Yeah, I don’t own a pet anymore, but my old dog of 18 years age was blind and deaf and my parents had sold their house so there were no options left. I showed up at the vet and they put her to sleep. Maybe I was imagining things like they say, but I saw or felt her soul leave like it had somewhere to go. I felt it was aware of me too, but like I said no one really believes me but that’s what I felt at the time. May God speed your cat along when the time comes.
I heard a wonderful answer by a Canon lawyer to a text from a 9 year old girl about whether she would see her dead dog in heaven. He said that God was all powerful and could certainly create that dog again. He also however said that all the joy that the little girl had experienced with her dog would be hers multiplied over and over in heaven. Finally he said that dogs do not have immortal souls, only humans do because they are created in the image and likeness of God. He said it better than I did.

A while back, my black and white nine year old lop eared bunny “Petey” hopped into the living room wanting attention. So I got on the floor and started to pet him, and he licked my arms and face. Later, I went upstairs to freep for a bit, then came down and found his body on the floor.
He knew, but he just wanted to say good bye. Memories!
Well it’s all speculation; a mystery yet to be revealed. They don’t have souls like ours but they have something, I don’t know what. Something more than nothing.
We have buried four pets on our farm so why would we do that if we didn’t believe that they were still around somewhere? I don’t have to see all the cats dogs and fish I’ve had in my life though. Well, maybe Boots and Barkley and Thunder. LOL

I thought you were kidding. I guess I’m sort of small potatoes by comparison in terms of being a seafood lover. You know what my favorite food is? Squid. I can clean 5 lbs of it in 45 minutes. I prefer to clean it myself because I don’t make mistakes.
That would seem to indicate that not everything true about God and His realm is necessarily in the Bible, or any other book; which makes sense for an infinite being.

First of in the Old Testament it specifically states that some animals are food, others for tilling the fields, and others for companionship.
Yes, people will see their “companion” animals in heaven, because if God has room for the ASP, and the LION, then HE surely has room for others who protected, or gave companionship to people on Earth.
The Lion and the Lamb thingy in the Bible is talking about the millennial reign of Jesus on EARTH, not Heaven. These will be people left over from the Tribulation,... no resurrected people.( or cats)
I'm not saying I haven't had dogs and cats that I loved or that Pence shouldn't be upset about his cat dying. I was merely explaining the constant misconceptions spread by people that haven't read their Bible and understood what they read. The Bible is an information Book about God and what to expect. We are the ones that add emotional claptrap that doesn't belong in Scripture.
Let's say we have a hypothetical friend or family member that is homosexual. We will go through 9 miles of excuses as to why they will go to Heaven with others even though Scripture specifically says they won't and God blew Sodom completely off the planet to show how He felt about the situation. I can read you 15 verses that say the same thing and some will still say They don't like my God and like theirs much better. Sorry, but you have carved out an idol as sure as Jezebel had her idols. The God of the Bible loved His people so much He gave His Son's life to be with them in Heaven, but you have to love Him back and accept His free gift. Angels don't qualify so I'm pretty sure cats don't either.It doesn't mention anything about herds of cats being resurrected. I'm not trying to be cruel, but it's just wrong to believe such claptrap. There are many denominations that believe you can loose your Salvation even though Romans 11:29 says it's irrevocable. There are people that refuse to believe in a Rapture even though that's pretty much all Thessalonians is about. There are people that believe Christians will suffer Tribulation when God says we are not the children of wrath. ( Not God's Wrath, but possibly the wrath of the Antichrist as in getting your head chopped off) There are people that forbid to marry, yet Paul says it's "doctrines of demons". I was once offered Communion with leavened bread and had to refuse. They didn't understand the significance of leavened bread at Communion. That's why there are so many denominations. You don't have to wear your hair in a bun and wear blue jean skirts to be modest in church.
I certainly can't stop anyone from believing cats and dogs will be resurrected, but they will be sorely disappointed if they get there. We must receive a resurrected body to come face to face with God. Corinthians speaks on this. A cat won't get one and will burn up coming into His presence without one.
If your God gives souls and resurrects cats, it sound more like one of those Egyptian gods than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I'm sure it will be carved from wood or chipped from stone, but it won't be the Consuming Fire.
I think Bettie Currie ended up with Socks, and he lived out his life with her. He fared better than Buddy, who got hit by a car in Chappaqua.
