James Comey, the former FBI director who was fired by President Trump last month, is expected to tell a Senate committee that the president asked him to back off the investigation into Mike Flynn, a source told The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.
The report said Comey could testify as early as next week.

IMHO, the entire Russian BS meme that has been beaten to death by the drivebys with no discernible evidence yet or ever is all due to a con the DNC played and got the press to go along with.
Seth Rich was hired by the DNC to ferret out computer fraud. Little did he know he would find all that and more right in the DNC's computers.
A closet Bernie Sanders supporter Rich learned only weeks before he was shot by DNC hires that the game was hopelessly rigged as far as the primary between Sanders and Hiallary was concerned.
Bernie could not possible win.They had all his donors,had them divided into three categories:Gold Star, Silver star and Bronze star and were working them as fast as they could. They had installed a computer algorhytm that could transfer votes from Bernie to Hillary and had done a dozen other little deeds along the way that only a sophisticated computer expert like George Webb Schweigert could figure out.He did and came forth with what was going on only a few weeks ago.
Rich stole 44 thousand e- mails from the DNC computers put them on three thumb drives and arranged to have them sent to wiki leaks/Assange in three different drops.The details of all this is still under investigation by Webb.
The DNC found out they had been hacked or that's what they thought and that ruse would become useful later. they then hired a computer company called Crowdstrike to figure out how it happened.
Crowdstrike figured out it was Rich and told Podesata. Podesta claimed "he wanted to make an example of whomever did the "hacking" which turned out not to be a hack but an inside job.
Jennifer Palmieri suggested that Rich should be killed. Podesata found out and referred her to Huma and Hillary. The two lovers agreed and exclaimed "Rich had to go".So they hired Alpha Jollah who got two MS 13 killers to go with him and shoot Rich twice in the back screwing up a supposed robbery big time.Some months later both MS 13 killers were also assassinated.
There are a zillion other details but long story short Rich was alive and well and talking to ambulance personnel as they took him to the hospital where he had maintenance surgery which would have sustained him until the morning when he would have had other surgery.
Bottom line, he was in good shape and was expected to live and have a full recovery as noted by an e mail from a fourth year surgeon having seen many of these cases.
What happened next is that the DNC had found out that Rich was not dead and they sent local compromised authorities and who knows who else(cia) to finish the job. They arrived at they hospital closed off Rich's area off to anyone and two hours later he was dead.
The dnc killed him twice.
At this pint they need a huge diversion to throw away attention from Rich being assassinated by major figures of the democrat party to anything else.
They figured out that they could used the Russians. They claimed that their computers had been hacked and that Trump was in collusion with the Russians.All bold lies but they figured out that by the time it was figured out it would be too late to come after any of them and they counted on the reaction that Trump took to the lies now spun all over the world.
As we see they are still playing the same meme actually quite successfully considering its all made up bullsh!t.
Sad thing is if I know this and a number of others have paid attention to George Webb know this you can be sure that talk radio knows and is sitting on the story for lack of guts.They just don't have the cajones to even broach the subject which could be done in a variety of ways. Really too bad for out side.

Now we know why Comey came out and gave his press conference clearing Hillary when that’s something only the Justice Department can actually do - he was providing cover to Lynch. Had she made the announcement it would have looked really bad given that she had just had a secret meeting with Bill Clinton.

Assuming for the sale of argument there was Russian interference (to accept that premise, you have to have faith that the government is telling the truth), the only reasons for the government to NOT go public, and to NOT apprise election managers (all being state-run operations), yes - either the outcome of the interference was desired by the government, or the interference was inconsequential - not worth raising a fuss over. Seeing the degree of fuss now, the only conclusion is that the government WELCOMED the interference, because it would swing the election in the preferred direction.
After the fact/election lip service to the sacred integrity of the election process is baloney, because if the election process was sacred, the government would have piped up and alerted the people about specifics.
Well actually the news pundits pushed Russia very early on in the campaign because all along they intended to use it if Hillary lost. So they got the narrative going early on and could drop it like a hot potato if she won....she didn’t. Also the campaign had already taken hits via obstructing and derailing Bernie’s run via the DNC itself.....Hillary said if she went down she’d take everyone with her.....the Clintons have all the dope on everyone so the agenda was to make certain it was never Hillary’s fault for loosing....that the narrative for her loss would be Russia and Trump coalition.
Whatever it takes to keep the investigations from Hillary and the MSM and others who had indeed directly attempted to make her President...and or keep all investigations away from them....which continues to this day.

The media generally claims “high ranking sources at _____agency or White House” or similar so depending on how it was reported he may have indeed been used as source.
