And I recall his age being considered when he was sentenced. If the judges won’t enforce the law then we the people have another task at hand.

Criminal justice is not for the benefit of the criminals. It is for the benefit of society. Judges who don’t know this have no business being judges.

OK. Give him two 50 year sentences in solitary confinement to be served consecutively.

Surely, within that time frame, some inmate could be induced to resolve the problem and perhaps (cough) get a reduced sentence or some other boon.

Exactly the point! Teens can make adult decisions they do it all the time. its true that they lack experience but in the final analysis they make decisions that effect their lives and the lives of others.

The conservative way is one where people are responsible for their own decisions.
