Scientists Are About to Perform an Experiment to See if The Human Mind Is Bound by Physics

Perhaps one of the most intriguing and interesting phenomena in quantum physics is what Einstein referred to as a "spooky action at a distance" - also known as quantum entanglement.

This quantum effect is behind what makes quantum computers work, as quantum bits (qubits) generally rely on entanglement to process data and information. It's also the working theory behind the possibility of quantum teleportation.

The long and short of it is this: entangled particles affect one another regardless of distance, where a measurement of the state of one would instantly influence the state of the other.

However, it remains "spooky" because - despite following the laws of quantum physics - entanglement seems to reveal some deeper theory that's yet to be discovered.

A number of physicists have been working on determining this deeper theory, but so far nothing definitive has come out.

As for entanglement itself, a very famous test was developed by physicist John Bell in 1964 to determine whether particles do, in fact, influence one another in this way.

Simply put, the Bell test involves a pair of entangled particles: one is sent towards location A and the other to location B. At each of these points, a device measures the state of the particles.

The settings in the measuring devices are set at random, so that it's impossible for A to know the setting of B (and vice versa) at the time of measurement. Historically, the Bell test has supported the spooky theory.

Now, Lucien Hardy, a theoretical physicist from the Perimeter Institute in Canada, is suggesting that the measurements between A and B could be controlled by something that may potentially be separate from the material world: the human mind.

We could save them a lot of time here, don’t you think?

Never mind - I had you answer before I typed the question.

Robert Heinlein wrote a book about this. Twin boys, one on Earth and one on an interstellar spaceship, communicate instantaneously, thus ignoring the speed of light.

Jump off a 100-foot cliff, head first.

Does Physics apply?

Havent they already done studies showing that groups of people’s thoughts can affect a random number generator?

Invent a true random number generator and you will be wealthy beyond your dreams.

Are there any working quantum computers at this time?

My mind seemed especially unbound when I studied Physics in college.

If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don’t understand quantum mechanics

I was thinking that John McCain might make for a good test case but then he does not have a mind so that is out.

Distance and time do not matter when the communication is connected at the sub-physics level where sub-particles form a straight line of communication with no propagation delay.

Of course it makes sense in the mind that is beyond physics.

This rules out islams and democrats...

Interesting topic. Supposedly, at least one doctor/scientist has taken a blood donation from someone, and kept it properly stored, and that same blood has experienced the same molecular changes that were taking place back in the donor’s body, such as if the donor was experiencing trauma. I don’t have the names of those who have demonstrated this, but have heard it claimed multiple times from various sources, so if anyone else knows the specifics please let me know.

So if atom a can be influenced by atom b due to entanglement in the bell experiment, how do they insure that either a or b is not entangled by all the other atoms in the universe during the experiment?

Seems to me that atom b would be hopelessly out voted by atom Z to the google unless someone has invented an anti-quantum ray gun while I was not looking.

Quantum physics is a byproduct of pot usage. “Thinking themselves to be wise, they become as fools...”

There are some people who theorize that every event one is to experience in one’s lifetime exists all at once. The notion of time is but a useful delusion, shared by the masses to insure a greater sense of order. Some believe the methods of a technique called Remote Viewing can allow certain individuals to view outside of their present environment, sometimes outside of their present point in time.

Science, both guided and challenged by God and by nature still has much to discover. Do not forget, the theory of germs has not been around that long, historically speaking.
This was first proposed by Girolamo Fracastoro in 1546.

= = =

If I donate, and my blood is given to a patient, will I experience THEIR trauma????

I assume we are NOT talking about spreading AIDS, here.

The human brain, if you omit the 1.6 billion islams and the few dozen democrat idiots there are about 5.n billion working separately right now.

Just imagine if they worked together...
