Bozell: 'Terrible Liars' at USAA Claim Hannity Ad Pulled Because It Doesn’t Advertise Opinion Shows

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell exposed USAA’s spokesmen as “terrible liars” for claiming they pulled their advertisements on “Hannity” because USAA doesn’t advertise on opinion shows – when, in fact, they advertise on far-left media.

In a statement released Thursday, Bozell condemned USAA’s “obnoxious and shameful” hypocrisy, especially given that Sean Hannity, like USAA, serves and supports the U.S. military:

“USAA is dishonest and their spokesmen are terrible liars. First they pander to the far-left by announcing they were pulling advertising from Sean Hannity's TV show, and when there is an uproar against them, they state on Twitter that they don't advertise on 'opinion shows.'

That is dishonest. They advertised on MSNBC Hardball just last night. We have several other examples of USAA advertising on left-wing shows that would clearly violate their stated 'policy.'

“USAA's customers -- so many of them veterans who have no greater champion than Sean Hannity -- have every right to be outraged. USAA owes them specifically, and the public at large an explanation. This duplicity is obnoxious and shameful.”

In a statement issued earlier in the day, Bozell said that the unwarranted boycott is part of liberals’ efforts to silence conservative views and re-establish a monopoly of the information the American public can access.

Member for 22 years. Started today with a cordial phone call and cancelled my USAA surety bond for notary public and a 10m policy for valuable articles (homeowners covers it anyways). I also paid off, early a car loan and said that I am going to make USAA pay, TODAY for inconvieniencing me, and they have a week to retract their stupid "policy" and issue an apology or my home, earthquake, flood, auto, checking, savings, mutual fund, credit card, term life, and business insurance are shopped for better value with companies that share my conservative principals.

The question is this: Who do we turn to?! Ive been given names of Navy Federal Credit Union, Chubb, Encompass, and Amica.

Do you Freepers have any suggestions as alternatives to my choices above?

THanks!

What are the procedures for USAA members to force a no confidence vote of the Board members? USAA needs a regime change.

The company really needs to fire their PR firm. I understand the statement about pulling ads from opinion shows came from their Twitter feed that’s run by their PR firm.

I am a 49 year member of USAA with car, homeowners, umbrella, and life insurance with them. I will be making my views known on Tuesday as well. I am disgusted with their actions and their response.

Cancelled my auto insurance with them for midnight tonight. Guess after seeing this I need to start looking to change my homeowners policy unless they change their minds by early next week.

Start a movement to vote all current members off the Board next time around - I usually don’t bother to return the ballot, but I will be doing so this time....

I’m looking into a member action for a call of no confidence. WE own this company. Executive committee, CEO and all the rest work for us. Trying to find out what it takes to nominate new directors for the next election... That is where we need to move this discussion.

I, too, have been a member for decades. This is just the latest symptom of a disturbing trend.

What it looks like to me (my opinion only) is that they have drifted further and further left over the years. They are far more interested in lining the pockets of the executives than they are in serving their military members. Look at executive compensation trends. They have opened up membership to practically anyone. This makes premiums go up because IMO military officers and NCOs are more responsible than the new categories of members and we are now footing the bill for the higher accident rates of the newer members. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) Ironic, since USAA was started by some officers who couldn’t get insurance because traditional insurance companies regarded them as uninsurable.

I am not likely to move my insurance and investments at this time, because I don’t believe the alternatives are better. (Progressive insurance??? Even the name is repulsive.)

I am more inclined to try to band together with fellow military/vets and vote out the current CEO and board of directors.

Suggestions?

They also tell me I am 40 something year member too whenever I talk with USAA.

The last opinion email they got from me is when that Muslim moron in San Francisco was kneeling during the National Anthem. For that, I did NOT transfer a large sum of money.

Last summer, I did transfer a large sum to USAA but next week, that is coming out. The part of advertising on Hardball pissed me off. I can't stand that RAT shrill named Chris Mathews.

USAA does advertise on a leftist opinion show and then lies about it. Screw them.

A few years ago, I came across info that said my share balance was in the $thousands. They send me a check every year but the balance would pay for some nice new toys. I will call tomorrow if they are open and inquire how much that is now.

I will also say I expect to see an email to me explaining why the morons at USAA decided to support Media Matters in their boycott against a right wing show. Anything Obama supports, I reject.

If you choose to take no individual action then the next most effective action is to attend a shareholders/stockholder meeting. Join with several dozen others and make a strong public statement. That will make news and generate press attention-—which strikes fear in the corporate “suits” of usaa.

USAA Assurance vs USAA Insurance? USAA Insurance insures other than commissioned officers. The Assurance part is only for commissioned personnel. They aren’t advertising on TV for that as far as I can tell. Been with them since 73’, everything is fine, not going to rush and cancel a good thing. I was employed by the Gecko, and still kept USAA. Give up my annual USAA dividend? Hell No! I now have ONA on my TV, screw Fox and CNN and what’s left there.

I’ve been banking with them even longer. I e-mailed them today about pulling the ads from Hannity and got the shuffle about the policy of not advertising on opinion shows and it was an error.
I followed up tonight with “When does that policy start with the ads on Hardball on MSNBC” after seeing this piece.
I’m pretty sure tomorrow’s answer will be more of the same BS.
I was considering moving my insurance and retirement money to them and told them I would not be doing so now and would be looking into changing banks.

I use USAA for insurance but Amica keeps sending me stuff. I hear that they may be worth looking into.
