Twelve jurors have been chosen for the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial: seven men and five women, two of them black, in a case where race and gender loom large.
Defense lawyers had accused prosecutors of trying to block black jurors from the panel, but the district attorney denied it, and the challenge was overruled by the judge.
Cosby did not mention the controversy when he spoke to reporters as he left the courthouse, instead thanking the "wonderful people" of Pittsburgh and local police who "made everything very, very smooth."

Only if there’s no case against him. Hate to say but I have long questioned the accusations against Cosby because he’s long been one of the foremost critics of ghetto culture in the USA. He’s also never held back on his contempt of the Democrat welfare plantation that holds black people in poverty.
If you stop and consider for a moment that the left hates him like they hate President Trump then it makes sense to look at the accusations and to start demanding evidence of the accusations that consists of more than just accusations.
I think of Cosby’s guilt along lines of the Laffer curve.
If one woman had accused Cosby of drugging for sex, or maybe two, I’d discount it. If a score accuse him, I think it’s likely (although the jury will be the ultimate fact-finder). If 5,000 accused him, I’d have to discount all of them.
So far, it seems like the number of accusers is in the believable sweet spot, so to speak. We’ll see.
In any event, whether he walks, or sits in prison, his time is growing short. He looks like he’s fading away.
Supposedly he’s completely blind. Of course it could be a ruse to try to gain sympathy.
Bill better hope the jury is not made up of “12 Angry Women”.
It’s sad how the bottom has dropped out of his career, his public perception, his credibility. All this before the actual trial has even begun. Even if Bill is acquitted of all charges (not likely), there may be no coming back from this, at least nowhere near on the scale of fame and adoration he used to inspire.
Cosby says these acts were consensual. If they were NOT consensual, that’s rape and assault, in which case, he is deserving of all the verbal tomatoes now being thrown in his direction.
Pittsburgh is breathing a sigh of relief.

He was part of the pedophile culture in Hollywood. Maybe this sensational trial will help bring it out into the open with the generally low-informed. Just going from memory here, but he is accused of going after young girls, iirc. If not, I will stand corrected.

Half right: yes, Bill Cosby detests the ghetto culture and mindset. However, I don’t ever recall him using his influence to back politicians who oppose welfare, affirmative action, etc. Don’t get me wrong: Cosby deserves credit for daring to criticize the ghetto nonsense. That took guts. Also, he always promoted clean humor and entertainment.
As for the crimes Cosby has been accused of: while I doubt they’ll get convictions against Cosby — it’s just been too long since most of these things allegedly happened — I think Cosby is guilty of violent behavior towards at least a few women. The sheer weirdness of what he’s been accused of, coupled with the eerie consistency of the stories of the more credible accusers, make it likely much of this is true.
As for the understandable suspicion that Cosby is being punished for his culturally conservative views, I assert that the murder of his son was something that would have neutralized most people with an ax to grind against Cosby for having told black men to pull their pants up. In addition, there’s one aspect of the Cosby case that would rub most black people who don’t like Cosby the wrong way: virtually all of the women he messed around with were white.

I’ve been very outspoken on this site about how I was mistreated by blacks in high school and despite that experience on my part I’m still very suspicious of the claims against Cosby. There’s a sincere lack of evidence and the most glaring lack of evidence is DNA evidence.
There isn’t any.

Cosby most likely has more white fans than black fans so why should he care.
Two of twelve is 16.66%. That’s more than the black population percentage of the country. Sounds fair to me!
Well, there’s a case but it’s entirely circumstantial. There’s no DNA, there are no corroborating witnesses, no toxicology reports, etc. It will come down to a string of accusers making accusations, and Cosby’s lawyers trying to pick their stories apart.

About the only thing that resembles that from this whole affair was a couple teenagers who snuck into a Playboy Mansion party (lying about their ages) said he was hitting on them.
