The reason it sounds believable is because Seth Rich had just discovered the truth about the utter corruption in the DNC (and no doubt assumed rightly about the RNC, which wasn’t his politics anyway). He was on the darker web desperate to have help getting what he knows out there. He wanted someone he could trust; he didn’t really know his risks.
I think there is something here. And I hope the Trump admin can provide him safety for testifying as well as get off his case criminally.
