If one is going into downtown Wheeling, the only choice is to stay on I-70 and go through the tunnel which comes up in a mile or so or get off at this troublesome exit and go over the hill on National Rd. I’m not sure the Washington Av. exit would even be there except for the fact that Wheeling Jesuit University is right there. There is a back way into East Wheeling I remember in Mt. de Chantel Rd. if I remember the name correctly. After 42 years, I might have the name wrong, you know?
