During a funeral service for Roger Ailes this weekend, the teenage son of the former Fox News chairman seemed to promise that he would have his revenge on the people who “betrayed” his father before his death.
The memorial took place at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Palm Beach, Florida, and it was attended by conservative figures like Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and various hosts and contributors for Fox News. Ingraham’s website Lifezette put out a report on the event, and they described the eulogy that was given by Ailes’ 17-year-old son, Zachary.
“I loved my father. He considered how much certain people hated him as a measure of success,” said Ailes’ son. “I want all the people who betrayed my father to know that I’m coming after them…and hell is coming with me.”
The report suggests that Ailes was directing his comments towards Gretchen Carlson, Andrea Tantaros, Megyn Kelly, and all the other former Fox employees who accused his father of sexual harassment. The allegations forced Ailes Sr. to resign as Fox News’ CEO, and the internal investigation that followed caused major shake-up within the network at the time.
One day Trump’s son Baron will be expressing similar sentiments. Wish both of them well.
Just as John Quincy Adams and Dubya followed their fathers, I expect Barron to do the same.

I understand why a loving son would feel as Zachary did and does. I still wish his mother or some other adviser who viewed the eulogy could have talked him out of saying it in that way. It almost sounds like what used to be called a Blood Oath.
My family life was nothing like the Ailes, but I can only recall how I felt a few years back during my father’s funeral. I was a complete mess, an overweight, bearded, middle aged man, in my new tailored suit from Men’s Warehouse, bawling like a helpless baby. The whole memorial service was a blur, punctuated by lots of forced smiling and handshakes as I greeted the guests, the many old friends of my father’s. All I can say is in a moment of profound grief, people speak straight from the heart, if they can speak clearly at all. Maybe this 17 y/o young man could have found a better forum to make these remarks. Then again, maybe no one will take his vow as anything of great consequence.

Are you so positive that they were lying? I’m not. I’m also not so sure that Ailes left just because of the allegations; I suspect his health might’ve had something to do with it, as well.
As to the ratings, they go up and down with administrations. Obama fired up the conservatives and Trump is firing up the liberals.
I like Carlsen Tantaros but not Kelly. Don’t watch any of them anymore (because I actually have to work).
I wish Carlsen and Tantaros had stayed with Fox. They were good, feisty, and refreshing. Have no idea if their complaints are valid or not.
A 17 year old with a payback attitude very unusual. I really like his attitude. If he is anything like his father these three women will be spending sometime looking over their shoulders.

I thought the timing of his death was pretty .... convenient? Not the healthiest man, but if Cankles survived a fall and blood clot I wonder why he didn’t. And it I might have missed it, but there was no news of his initial fall, was there?
Ingraham couldn’t have kept a private matter private? She had to use it to make some headlines?
