Sen. McCain Softens ‘Watergate’ Statement on Trump Administration Turmoil
The Wall Street Journal ^ | May 21, 2017 | Kate O’Keeffe

Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) on Sunday walked back earlier comments that the controversy surrounding investigations into potential collusion between associates of President Donald Trump and the Russian government had reached “Watergate size and scale.”

Mr. McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, in an interview on Fox News Sunday said he had been referring to the way the Trump administration was managing the situation. “Now the question is, how is it handled? Is it handled the way Watergate was where it’s drip, drip, drip, every day more, or do we handle it like the—like Ronald Reagan handled Iran Contra?” he said. “It was a scandal. He fired people. He went on national television and said, we made mistakes, we did wrong and we’re not going to do it again and the American people let him move forward.”

I want to know his involvement in selecting to focus on terrorist organizations and advocate for funding and arming them.

Those were terrorist entities that regarded the U.S. as the great Satan, and were fully intending to harm the U.S. in any way they could.

McCain said, “It was a scandal. He fired people. He went on national television and said, we made mistakes, we did wrong and we’re not going to do it again and the American people let him move forward.”

Did McCain ever define what mistakes were made, or what anyone did wrong? If not, he is nothing more than a tool.

The Keating five scandal dragged on a while tooo.

Some "reporter/journalist" should ask Juan how this "scandal" compares to the Keating 5 scandal. I'd pay to see the look on his face.

How does McCain (traitor-AZ) get away with walking back his behaviors? I’m thinking and hoping and praying he could get sucked into investigations that tie Benghazi weapons getting to ISIS in Syria. Then he could spend the rest of his miserable life in Guantanamo or a padded cell or tried at the Hague. (This gal dreams big!)
