I read where someone in the State Department or Intelligence (can’t remember) warned Israel about giving Trump info. IF this warning happened...likely came from Obama’s people. But really even more than that..the leak shows it comes from someone with more info than Trump usually bothers with reading.

There you go again with your passive-aggressive attacks against Trump. McMaster said that Trump did not know where the information came from. And why the unsubstantiated comment that the State Department or the IC warned Israel against giving info to Trump? It doesn't make any sense.

Who leaked, etc., is something the WH needs to find out and shut down, but the substance of Trump’s communication to Lavrov is a negotiator turning lemons into lemonade. Message: “Because of domestic politics, I don’t have the flexibility to give you anything. But you should give us some things while we wait.”

The way I see it, McMaster just cobfirmed the entire leak. When classifed info is leaked the right answer is no answer. We say “We will not confirm or deny any of these so-called reports.”

Other than Trump we know that the following were in the room:

Rex Tillerson — Secretary of State
H.R. McMaster — National Security Adviser
Dina Powell — Deputy National Security Adviser

Whomever was attached to each of those three ran off to their offices and reported what they “felt” was a Presidential f-up which gave classified info to the Russians. Or it was a Trump aide.

Here is a transcript of remarks that McMasters made at a press briefing:

“The (media) story combined WHAT WAS LEAKED, WITH OTHER INFORMATION, AND THEN insinuated about sources and methods. So I wanted to make clear, to everybody, that the President, in no way, compromised any sources or methods in the course of this conversation.”

Prior to that he said that President Trump, “was not read into methods and sources.”

Also that the AIDES reported the conversation with the Russians to the bigs at NSA and CIA “out of over-abundance of caution.” More than one aide is how I read that.

President Trump “was not read into” (was never provided the information), and yet those sources and methods somehow managed to be given to the NYT - eh? Along with the leaked info about what was said to the Russians. So, there you have it. Someone - an aide who rushed off to share the minutes of the meeting with the bigs at the NSA and the CIA, set up the scenario which resulted in the leak that claimed Trump gave information to the Russians that he did not even possess. I believe it also resulted in the information that Trump did not possess actually being leaked as something that Trump had shared with the Russians.

Why? Your criteria seem to border on racial purity laws once used elsewhere. Is it not enough that he overtly supports the Trump agenda?

Yes, he is bureaucratically savvy enough to not bad-mouth his boss in public. No, that is not enough. The important thing is to find out where he really stands -- otherwise we may find him privately stabbing Trump in the back via leaks.

Democrats look at a person's ideological position BEFORE allowing him any power in any area they control, and continuously monitor people for any hint of impurity. ANY person who was given trust by Democrats CANNOT be given trust by us.
