I lived through the gentrification of a neighborhood just a couple of neighborhoods down from Bloomingdale. They are displacing and renoivating up there (or filling in for folks leaving, depending on political persuasion). We had to put floors/walls in our neighborhbood. In either case, in transitions like that, you get drug dealers and crews, to some extent.
The last thing the crews want is for extra cop presence, so in general they don’t mess with the white folks. A lone mugger here and there, sure. And they frequently go after the gay guys. But they are there for the profit, so they take things like wallets, etc.
The dealers who would kill to protect the turf don’t mess with whitey. It’s bad business. The white community knows how to get publicity and more cops around. How to organize. The black community, not so much, espacially when the long term residents leave. So the dealers prefer the black community. It’s also camoflage.
In 30+ years I never heard of anyone in the gentrifying community (including black gentrifiers) getting assassinated. Mugged yes. Not gunned down. This is different.

He is implying that Rich WAS a source in his own way. Helping, I believe, to keep the fire stoked to trigger and investigation of the murder. He will go down in history as a real patriot despite not being a citizen, for disclosing the Clintons’ crimes and revealing that the Russia are not turning our president into a Manchurian.
100 years from now American kids will be taught the truth about Obama and the Clintons and wonder what present day American’s were thinking to elect such people to the presidency.
