President Trump to Name Callista Gingrich Ambassador to Vatican
Live Trading News ^ | May 14, 2017 | Paul Ebeling

The wife of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R), Callista Gingrich, is going to be announced as the next ambassador to the Vatican, potentially this week, according to reports.

The announcement is pending approval of the Office of Government Ethics, but is targeted to be made before President Donald Trump meets with Pope Francis on 24 May in Rome, according to the report.

Newt Gingrich, a strong supporter of President Trump, acknowledged to reporters that his wife is “under consideration” for the Ambassadorship and he would be “very excited for her.”

Have a terrific weekend.

Given the idiocy of the current Pope on so many things, I think it’s great.

Even if you confess your sins?

This is what I don’t understand is that in the churches (Catholic and Eastern Orthodox) that they will marry a couple, they get divorced and then each remarrying whom they had the affair with and remarried in the church, too!

One of my relatives in on her 4th marriage.

Are you trying to tell Catholics what to believe?

Have you never hear of an annulment?

Numerous accomplishments? LOL She surely has!

This has to be a joke. Ambassador to the Vatican? Wasn’t a recent ambassador an alcoholic? Maybe Newt is hopping for an annulment for his two previous marriages? LOL

Yep. No divorce and remarriage. Send a tranny. They’d fit in very well in the “new” Vatican.

He doesn't need one. Both marriages where prior to his conversion.

“The Church does not recognize divorce and remarriage. “

And so all of us non-Catholic Christians should care? It’s fine with me if she wants to hob knob with that old Commie in a white robe! It’s not “The Church” to most of us, and from what I read today, it’s not “The Church” any more to a lot of baptized Catholics either.

Given Catholic teachings on divorce and remarriage I'd leave them both at home.

Clearly, most here have no idea about the job’s requirements or duties.

I think she is a good choice. She is a devout Catholic, and a sinner, and Newt converted to Catholicism. They are both sinners, but so are we all. The key is to not continue to sin, or at least commit the same sin, and try to live a life in service and thanks to God. I am good with this choice. I always like Newt. He is brilliant, and I would have loved to have seen him has a role as Secy of State or Chief of Staff considering all his years in Congress. But, he, like Trump, has a huge ego. And those two would clash.

I heard Hannity ask Newt about this rumor at least 3+ months ago. As I recall, Newt said it had been mentioned, but not offered, and that he would be excited about it if it was offered.

Given the passage of time, I’d hesitate to consider this anything other than a rumor at this point.

He’d been previously married, so, I don’t understand his point.
