Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said our institutions of government were “under assault” by President Donald Trump.
Partial transcript as follows:
TAPPER: Let’s take a wider view of this for one second and then get back to more detailed questions. This week with the president firing the FBI director while this investigation is going on, and then saying that he was thinking about the Russia probe when he was making the decision, have we crossed a line here? well,
CLAPPER: Well, I will just say that the developments of the past week very bothersome, very disturbing to me. I think in many ways, our institutions are under assault both externally and that’s the big news here, is the Russian interference in our election system. And I think as well our institutions are under assault internally.
TAPPER: Internally from the president? exactly.
CLAPPER: Exactly.
TAPPER: Because he’s firing the checks and balances?
CLAPPER: Well I think you know, the founding fathers a system of three coequal branches of government, and a built-in system of checks and balances, and I feel as though that’s under assault and is eroding.

By “our” he meant the Communist Party, and by “under assault” he meant being forced to follow the law.

The FBI is not a check and balance on the president A-hole. It is a minor bureau within the executive branch, there to execute the presidents policy.

When Clapper says “our institutions”, it becomes clear what he means after contemplating exactly what he represents. So, while Trump may be a threat to DC, he’s the force of ‘regular’ citizens forced to pay for the elite’s stolen valor.
When liberals say that they mean how dare a Conservative President take away their meal ticket. Liberals know how close they were to getting the Communist Utopia they envisioned for so many years, they were THIS close and failed..they know they won’t get that kind of opportunity again for a very very long time
Clapper is right. His institutions are under attack by real Americans. America’s institutions have the clap and are under attack by Clapper, Obama, Hillary, Pelosi, and the rest of the socialists. I’m praying for good to prevail in the short term. We know we win in the long run, but that could take a long time and I’d rather skip the ugly phase.
I think this guy’s 15 minutes are up.
He says there is no evidence of colusion with Trump and Russia that HE saw, but then he reminds us that maybe, just maybe, Comey’s FBI might have something that clap hard has not seen.
Reasonable doubt, plausible deniability..
Right after Clap head makes these witty statements, you should cue the organist to play that classic chord from a radio thriller.

And why are there, and can anyone name the 17 intelligence agencies? That fact we have 17 is pretty stupid. FBI, CIA, NSA, and....
