A South Florida university awarded an honorary degree to Trayvon Martin, Saturday.
Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, took the stage at Florida Memorial University’s commencement in Miami Gardens to receive a posthumous bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science on their son’s behalf.
Fulton and Martin said the ceremony was bittersweet, and now they’re passing on an inspirational message to Trayvon’s fellow graduates.
“To the graduates, I tell you, there is no limit to what you can do,” said Fulton. “Just stay focused and put your mind to it, and you can do it.”

The message is that they worked hard for a degree, but St Trayvon got his for being stupid enough to attack a citizen who was legally carrying a concealed handgun.

I said this in another thread: If I worked in Aviation, I’d be leery of hiring anyone with a degree from this school, even if he legitimately busted his butt to get it. The university doesn’t realize, or doesn’t care, that doing this has tarnished all graduates.

I always thought Zimmerman was kind of a creepy guy....to be clear, but Treyvon Martin was ultimately in the wrong by attacking Zimmerman. Like you, I believe Martin was headed for a life of Thuggery (unless he got lucky somehow and someone stepped in and put him on the right track). It’s too late for that now. Unfortunately and sadly, he died leading the life of a thug. It’s amazing to me that they are trying to build him up as some sort of civil rights icon. Martin was no more headed to college at the time of his demise than I’m headed to medical school to become a brain surgeon. Politics is a crazy business.
Flies over Travon’s body was only thing aeronautical he was exposed to.
