North Korea launched a ballistic missile Sunday morning that flew around 430 miles, a South Korean military official said, in what appears to be the latest missile test in defiance of United Nations sanctions.

A 2000 kilometer apogee is 1000 miles higher than the current orbit of the International Space Station. Am I the only one thinking it had to be turned around to land where it did and needed to do a re-entry burn?

Many thanks go to Clinton and Maddy Albright for their shenanigans when slick was in office. Bush didn’t do any better other than identifying NK as one of the axis of evil. And we all know Obama did zero.

It is actually 2,000 KM(1,240 mile.) But anyway it must be out to space and back to atmosphere if this is indeed true.

“The X 37B came home this last week and NK fires a missile that doesn’t blow up. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.”

Had the same thought.

As opposed to what the fiction section of your local bookstore might indicate: Ballistic missiles and other weapons of mass destruction are far more complicated with failure as a much higher probability than most realize. Murphy remains the Chief Engineer in Charge, and you ignore his laws at your peril. It would appear that the North Korean missile program lacks sufficient engineering rigor to satisfy Chief Engineer Murphy.

Regardless as to whether it was tested using the high apogee profile flown or a typical MET ballistic missile profile, the test proves that a North Korean missile can survive the transition to exoatmospheric and back required of a functional ballistic missile. As a test of that Key Performance Parameter (KPP) the profile flown was more rigorous that would be operationally required.

However, the fact is, that prior to this test they were 0-3, with the third one taking off for Russia, instead of where it was targeted, forcing North Korea to abort it in flight.

Therefore, either the North Koreans do not trust their guidance, command, and control systems and deliberately fired this test essentially straight up and down without an operable guidance system; or they are still trying to make their guidance, command, and control system work and this one flew to a location other than the original target as well.

The question the North Koreans must now answer: Is it just Chief Engineer Murphy, or has Murphy engaged several “outside consultants’” who posses the technology and engineering rigor to ensure that the missiles will not work.

——sufficient engineering rigor——

Wow.... those are interesting words that are worth incorporating into arguments on the factory floor as to “why must we do this?”

The outside consultants, if they exist, who can fit your profile best, are Chinese. Most of things N. Koreans need to make a rocket pass through Sino-N. Korean border one way or another. They could be components or industrial equipment for building a rocket. People tend to talk about Stuxnet type of malware planted by the West which can disrupt their rocket performance. Chinese are far better positioned to pull such a mischief. They can plant bugs and malware on everything if they want.

That does not mean that they actually did it. They might as well have sold faulty components to N. Koreans at a huge markup. However, if they want, they certainly can.

Notice how Trump isn’t really speaking about this? Just wait, they are in for a BIG surprise. There will be NO warning.

Altitude of the ISS is approx 250 miles. My math says that’s approximately 1000 miles higher than the ISS.

“Flew around...and LANDED in the Sea of Japan”.

I know squat about missiles and the physics of all of that kind of stuff...but even this Adorable Deplorable thinks that missiles shouldn’t ‘fly around’- and then ‘LAND’.

They’re supposed to go really, really fast and then explode when they hit something, especially when you’re trying to show the world what a bad-ass you are.

Maybe the missile was powered by a bunch of hamsters inside running on wheels, or if it had ACME MISSILES written on it, that would also explain a lot.

Just to be cautious i just bought two radiation detectors, i should have done more research first as the first one was an old obsolete Civil Defense unit, but the seller was 50 miles away in Anchorage, got it for $20, but i had to then buy a special 22.5 volt battery! Luckily you can still get those, got 2 for $10.

But then i realized after watching a vid on Youtube about these units is they only measure heavier radiation.

So back to searching again, and then i find a modern high end unit a GMC-320 Plus, highly rated but spendy, a seller on Ebay had new ones at $108, or best offer, they accepted my $90 offer.

We have had reports of radioactive garbage washing up on shore south of here, and most of our weather comes from Japan.

If by chance Noko hits Japan or any nuclear debices are used I’m going to be at least partially ready, because i know pretty well they won’t advertise radiation dangers, oh no, that would cause panic.

What if they had aimed for it and destroyed it?

Did your geiger counter pick up any radioactivity on the beach?

I’d be interested in that.

The norks aren’t going to nuke anyone. They are going to develop icbms and use them as nuclear blackmail and the world will capitulate.

That’s exactly whats going to happen. He crossed Trumps red line and Trump did absolutely nothing. Nadda. Not even a word.

At least this is what I believe to be likely. It will either be that or a total war on the korean peninsula.

If we go after Kim and he lives that gives him an excuse to go hot, and nothing galvanizes a countries population more than a pre-emptive military strike against them. I think they’ll fight is what I’m saying. They really do see the US as an aggressor. Because of successful propaganda. Don’t be deceived by these posters saying “they hate Kim, they won’t fight, they’ll kill Kim.”
Thing is most of these North Koreans had ancestors that died, or fought in the Korean war. They also helped support the bad guys in vietnam. The US has been made out to be the aggressor to these people. They aren’t going to turn on their government especially if we strike them. I think that’s some of the reason we haven’t, but mostly Seoul.

“We don’t have any up there though.”

Somewhere in the back of my mind I always believed that someone in the gov’t was doing the right thing and making ready. But after 8 years of Obama, I don’t have much hope left.

I just bought these this morning but there has been reported cases of small amounts of radioactive debris washing up on the beaches around Homer, Alaska.

I’m confident Obama was never informed of the very best techno as its a no brainer a no brainer would get rid of it.

So after 8 years we get a new POTUS and he asks the military just what they have in stock, or in development, so it may be just a waiting game for some high tech to get dusted off, tested and then fielded. Like the nuclear gravity bombs.
