Russian charged w/ breaching U.S. firms says FBI attempted to coerce confession over Clinton hack

A Russian man wanted by the Justice Department on charges connected to hacking U.S. companies now claims the FBI offered him immunity in exchange for accepting responsibility for cyberattacks targeting former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Yevgeny Nikulin, the alleged hacker, laid the claim to Russian media Thursday in a letter sent from a Czech Republic prison cell amid an international extradition battle currently underway between Washington and Moscow.

FBI agents promised Mr. Nikulin money, American citizenship and a free apartment for taking the fall over hacking Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, he alleged in a letter published Thursday by Nastoyashchoe Vremya, a Russian-language website.

“[They told me:] you will have to confess to breaking into Clinton’s inbox for [President Trump] on behalf of [Russian President Vladimir Putin],” Mr. Nikulin wrote, as translated by The Moscow Times.

“He was offered to falsely testify that he was cooperating in the attack on the Democratic Party,” defense attorney Martin Sadilek said Thursday, the Associated Press reported. The FBI declined to comment.

Not credible. The FBI wants this guy to falsely confess to hacking Hillary. In return, he gets U.S. citizenship and a government funded apartment? C’mon people. Turn your B.S. detectors on.

Newsweek is reporting the same thing: http://www.newsweek.com/fbi-investigation-clinton-emails-russia-hack-607538

Agree. They still have no evidence. Mot a single person to pin this russian fairytale on. They were desperate to have something to lend this witch hunt a shred of credibility. The only evidence they have offered is their “high confidence” that it happened.

Even Trump hating leftist libtards are starting to give up on this this Trump Russian nonsense.

The agents whom proposed this deal should be in a Federal prison.

To #8. Re “Turn your BS detectors on - to - PILED HIGH AND DEEP.

This is not how the FBI operates. It is how Russian/KGB propagandists do. Hackneyed statements.

However, if the FBI does have the goods on this guy, it should be presented to Congress In Camera until the guy is convicted. Then open the floodgates and let’s see what floats out, like a turn in a swimming pool.

Not credible?

OK. Try this on for size:

MOSCOW wants this guy to confess -- falsely -- that the FBI wanted him to falsely confess to hacking Hillary for a substantive quid pro quo.

NOW the FBI has to refute the storyline that they tried to set this guy up as their patsy, which is a very tall order unless they turn up an actual Russian hacker who really got into Hillary's Inbox. If they can't, and the FBI has to admit they have no solid chain of evidence to prove that ever was a Russian hacker in the first place, then this guy's story really takes off.

Either way the FBI loses face, which would suit Moscow JUST fine, спаси́бо.

For sure this: the plot thickens.

I’m having a hard time believing this. If it were true, I’d think the people who knew about it would keep it under tighter wraps.

With that said, this is exactly the sort of thing the Dems would do. I see it as being easily within the strictures (or lack thereof) of their moral compass, such as it is.

Time will tell.

It may not be a popular opinion,

but I think those responsible for intentionally pushing this false Russia narrative should hung for treason.

As convoluted as that sounds, it is actually more credible.

I know. It stuck in my croup that some bloke in a Czech prison somehow gets this narrative out to the known universe. How? He had to have help. It’s not like he’s just going to scrawl this out on paper, flag down a guard and get it into the New York times for the morning edition. So who’s the help? Us? The Russians? Far more believable to me that there’s something back-channel going on between him and Moscow.

If true, that's evidence tampering. Conspiracy to obstruct justice! By the Deep State.
