It was more about her personal dissatisfaction.
RUGGED COLLECTIVISM
in the Big City ghetto has replaced individualism.
I'm still a "cowboy" - and I notice that most of the "cowboys" I run into are Bible-believing Christians, those that still answer to a calling higher than oneself.
I've seen a bumper sticker that read: "Real men love their wives" - I think that is just an awesome thing for a man to proclaim.
I've seen too many self-absorbed "men" ignore their wives as they practically begged them to be a leader in their family, kids that desperately need a father even though there was one that slept in the room with their mother (sometimes).
If you've ever been involved in any family-oriented ministry you would know how heart-breaking this issue is in America.
Sure, you could laugh about it - you could also laugh at the dismembered babies emanating from abortion mills.
I completely agree.
I do family law and most of the men want a mother rather than be the leader of a family.
Tombstone?
Since 1980....along with The Unforgiven the best theatrical westerns.
“Your a Daisy if you do” watch them.
“Well Bye”
My name says it all, Buckaroo.
Which one?
There are about a dozen Tombstones going back to the silent movies and they are ALL good.
Kaslin, thanks for posting the article. Great piece and I have often wondered the same when I look around me.
I am old school ranch born and been around cows and steers all my life but when I look around all I see are, well, girlie men with clean finger nails and polished teeth.
Never been to work earlier than 8am or been out of bed earlier than that.
Closest they have been to outdoors is to mow their yard or maybe hike a trail in a park.
But ask the 30+ male what the best airplane game is for their smart phone and they can tell you
It is NO wonder the female does not pretty themselves up and try to make themselves attractive as they can be anymore. Look what they have to catch them if they fall.
Anyway, great article, thanks
Hey, not too bad for being in her late 50’s or so! 20 years ago: https://youtu.be/h9AIgpz9XCQ
ROFLMAO!
Alberta
yeah true
I like the movie. Many people love the quote “I’ll be your huckleberry”...:)
Hahaha...you beat me to it. See? It IS one of everyone’s favorites!
Love “Unforgiven” as well, but one of my absolute favorites is “Open Range”.
“Where is my Reagan? Don’t say it’s John McCain”
Open Range was a good movie. Could have been 2 hours long and a GREAT movie but director Cosner never met a movie editor he liked and the 2:20 minutes destroyed the flow of the film and made at least 15 minutes of anticlimax.
Great fight sceen.
Robert Duvall was fantastic.
For a tv mini series Lonesome Dove with Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones is a must see for cowboy buffs.
Oh, man! I love “Lonesome Dove”, two scenes:
They go into the bar in Texas, and the bartender ignores Gus and Captain Call, so Gus slams his face into the bar!
When the Scout is whipping Captain Call’s son, and he jumps on his horse, gallops up and knocks the guy to the ground before he eventually drags him over to an anvil and grabs a pair of tongs...
Those two scenes really stuck with me...:)
You see the worst of humanity in family law. One of the first cases I was involved in out of law school was the divorce of a very prominent man. I learned he was lying scum and it troubled me that I was on his side. When he died I read articles and watched stories on television praising his life (and huge net worth) and shook my head. If they only knew.
I’m no longer practicing, but when I did I was primarily a tax attorney and I was bored. My clients were almost all wealthy self-made cowboys, business owners, and I noticed how excited they were about their work. Those men unwittingly inspired me to attempt to build a business other than my law practice. When I shuttered my practice based on little more than an idea, most people thought I was nuts. Thankfully my godly wife bought in from the beginning and never wavered. She has the cowboy spirit, too.
