DeKalb County Sheriff Jeffrey Mann was charged with two misdemeanors after an Atlanta police officer said the sheriff exposed himself late Saturday night and then attempted to evade arrest.

According to the incident report, obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mann was observed in a part of Piedmont Park known for “sexual acts after dark.”

Mann had exposed himself and was walking in the direction of a police officer, the report states.

Once he got within 10 feet, the report continues, the officer turned his flashlight on Mann, identifying himself as police and commanding him to stop.

Mann fled instead, leading the officer on a quarter-mile run before finally giving up.

Mann, in a statement, vowed to clear his name. He was charged with indecency and obstruction.

“Yep. I wonder if he’s still a member of the bar in GA? “

Most likely has memberships to several gay bars.

The guy monitors over 900 registered sex offenders and has to go to the park to get some action?

Maybe someone told him to get a hold of himself and he took it literally.

He was there doing an undercover investigation and the racist officer threatened him. Fearing for his life, he fled.

What do you want to bet that’s what his lawyer has told him to say, if the officer is white?

Most interesting line in the article:
“Prior to Brown, every sheriff elected to a full term in DeKalb since 1965 had faced criminal charges.”

Off-duty cop suspended as police investigate early morning Pine Hills crash

Staff report | May 4, 2017

ALBANY - An off-duty Albany police officer has been suspended without pay after the investigation into a two-car crash in the Pine Hills neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Albany Police spokesman Steve Smith did not identify the officer and whether any charges have been lodged, referring to an internal investigation by police.

The driver in the crash left a key piece of evidence - a bumper and a license plate, police said earlier Thursday.

The car was found on Ryckman Avenue a short time after it collided with another car at 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Lawrence Street and Myrtle Avenue, police said.

The other driver stopped. Smith said he was not injured and it is not believed than anyone in the fleeing car was hurt either.

At least four marked Albany police vehicles responded to the scene.

Sounds as if the media failed to vet the Sheriff for the voters of DeCalb county.

Understand: any interaction with a Union/City cop might result in your death...and it will take quite some time to reconcile. The cop may well be payed throughout.

How can someone flee with a short arm swinging in the breeze?

Incredible...There sure are a lot of kinky weird people out there. Ya gotta be careful.

Don't feel too bad, out in CA, there is at least one County Sheriff in prison with another one possibly on the way. This are big counties! If someone told me years ago that this would happen, I would not have believed them.

Crazy days.

Why wouldn’t you believe it?

Police aren’t superhumans.

They are regular humans they commit crime, they lie, they steal, they cheat.

But they are cops, and their buddies help them keep their jobs.

If they didn’t stick together a lot of cops would be in prison. Guaranteed.

Are you kidding? I remember when ball players were the heroes, acted respectable, and the cops were looked up to respected and could be trusted for the most part.

Did you not hear what I said? CA has one top Sheriff in prison currently and another one, also from a major county, (LA), and it looks like he's on is way to prison as well.

This is not normal from my perspective no matter how ya chop it up.

No human should be looked up to just because of their job.

Put them on a pedestal and then you’re surprised when they fall.

I stand by my assertion that a lot more cops would be in jail if their cop buddies didn’t cover up for them.
