A US military member was killed and two others were wounded in Somalia when they were attacked while on a mission advising Somali National Army forces, US Africa Command confirmed Friday.
The US service member killed in action was a Navy SEAL, a US defense official told CNN.
The incident occurred Thursday during an operation against local al Qaeda affiliate al Shabaab 40 miles west of Mogadishu near the town of Barii. The wounded are receiving medical attention, another US defense official told CNN. The troops came under small arms fire.

Why are our soldiers in Somalia? Nothing good in or from that part of the world.
Wasting our good kids. What in hell do we think we are going to accomplish in Africa? Close the door and don’t let them come here, and THAT solves any African threat.

I guess now that there is a republican in the White House, we will be getting daily death tolls of military from the mainstream media. They pretty much ignored them during Obama’s reign.

Somalia is the base of operations for eastern Africa. Spec Ops and what-not go to Somalia and are then deployed all over the continent.
And why are we in Africa....because there is a lot of oil in Nigeria. And because there are rare earth elements on the continent.
And, there are some Terrorist groups; which if you scratch the surface a little bit, are less Jihadi and more MS13.
If Trump had any brains he would pull us out of that mess before we get trapped.
