“Health care is a basic human right” So is food, shelter, a spouse, a right to reproduce, a car, an education, etc. /S

Thank you for referencing that article BackRoads775. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

If California and NY state lawmakers were to work with Trump to lead the states to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, such taxes arguably stolen state revenues, then please consider the following.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."—Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Once unconstitutional federal taxes are eliminated then California, NY and the other states would probably find a tsunami of new revenues that they wouldn’t know what to do with.

For starters, the states could establish their own individual healthcare programs, improve public schools and increase funding for police and fire departments, also repair their own infrastructure.

"The States should be left to do whatever acts they can do as well as the General Government." --Thomas Jefferson to John Harvie, 1790.

And should the states ultimately decide that the feds can do something better than the states can, then there is nothing stopping the states from amending the Constitution to grant the feds the specific new powers to do so.

Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!

Remember in November ’18 !

Since Trump entered the ’16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the ’18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.

Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.

In fact, if Justice Gorsuch turns out to be a liberal Trojan Horse then we will need 67 patriot senators to remove a House-impeached Gorsuch from office.

Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February ‘18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.

While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably haven’t been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.

Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.

Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed below.

“This is about medical care for illegal aliens. Period.”

In California you are correct.

California currently receives $261 billion in federal dollars to pay for Medicaid, Medicare and the Affordable Care Act and other health-related programs. So we would need the federal government — yes, the same federal government that’s talking about yanking the Affordable Care Act completely — to agree to divert those monies to our new universal health care program

yeah...not happening, Cali. That nasty old federal government is going to want states to start kicking in more of their own money to support their own citizens, not less. But you know, not to worry, there's lots of mansions in SF and LA, etc., that can be property taxed annually to supplement the illegals. And a surcharge on Hollywood would be a pretty good idea too - how about 10% of the net of each fiction movie produced oh, and each late night host and actor's salary above $1M? Living in California is a choice, right? And amusement parks - cough it up Disney, Knotts, Leggo, get on board Google, Apple, Elon Musk...put your money where your big mouths are - or leave, and take your socialism with you.

“Sheesh what an idiot. When CA is looking at bankruptcy from
This we’ll have to bail them out count on it.”

NO! Please help us rational Californians in our quest to bankrupt this state. Bankruptcy is the only way to put California right!

“Cigarette taxes”

Won’t work, almost no one smokes here any more! Went to Las Vegas a few weeks ago, and was “treated” to a disgusting smell I haven’t smelled in years. A non-smoking public is one of the few “benefits” of living in CA today.

Yes, and the A/C wasn’t handling it very well. Major Casino BTW. Our daughter was “performing” in an amateur belly dancing review. Kids!

It would only make sense if: the following were to occur:

Health care is determined to be a civil right by amending the Constitution.
Selling Medical insurance is outlawed.

Or saying that it is right or correct, but just sayin’.

The exodus will accelerate. The median IQ will continue to decline. California will be a Third World basket case. When they secede, the U.S. will rejoice.

“Health care is a basic human right.”

Really? Then why do I have to pay for someone else’s premium?

Where’s my Human Right to refuse a product?
>

Nobody seems to remind the State AND the Fed, we have (human) inalienable Rights: 5th and 13th.

And should the doc, nurses, hospitals NOT wish to provide said care out of the kindness of their hearts? Now they’re going to not only go w/ a MIN wage, but a MAX?? Whom ELSE would said MAX apply?

I don’t need govt to take FROM me to ‘pay for’ that which I would myself\for my own benefit. The only reason to do sol would to GIVE said gains to another, not of my choosing or volition a/o skim said $$ off the top.
