President Trump on Tuesday called for a "good shutdown" in September to fix the "mess” in government.

"The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there! We … either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good "shutdown" in September to fix mess!" he wrote in a series of tweets.

twice you’ve said 3 months. It is 5 months not 3. May, June, July, August, September.

Well we disagree entirely for reason previously stated. I don’t see any benefit to anything on the President’s agenda by fighting to the death over the last three months of the Omnibus cr*p sandwich.

The CR says that Trump cannot spend one penny for the border wall AND funds sanctuary cities. THERE ARE TWO REASONS FOR A SHUTDOWN. America has been living on CRs for how many years now? Do this and I guarantee you we will be here again and again and again. The RATS/UNIPARTY know all too well how to play this District of Corruption game and lord over us little peeons out here in flyover country. Ask Juan McStain what his Modus Operandi is every 6 years when reelection rolls around - he has a conversion, then returns to the Potomac to inhale that rarefied air. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP - WHY WAIT?

Are you planning on offing Paulie Ryno?

All of a sudden the vision bursts into mind of Ryan sitting in a boat on Lake Tahoe while fishing with Neri.

SMH, this all or nothing crowd isn’t much for strategy.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

House Speaker Ryan is an idiot, he has been rope a doping President Trump from the beginning.

Ryan must go.Or rthere will be no realization Trump agenda.

The spending bill is a horrid sell out to the Democrats. Did we elect a Republican government or not? Obviously not. President Trump should veto that spending bill. Let it rot on Ryan’s rack.

The Veto word needs to be spoken.

I don’t know, so many factors were lined up that would have made the fight at this instant to be extremely productive. Plenty of opportunities for liberals to throw their little fits, destroy private property, and honestly, as demoralized and as scattered they were, giving them any victory is just energizing for them.

Economically, least where I am, things just started boiling in the housing market, employment’s looking a bit better, and the newest round of taxes haven’t hit.

By changing the landscape to late summer, it simply allows liberals to get their minions out, do their marching societies and basically terrorize the nation. They’d do that anyway; but the public took it to be sore losers, now it will be ‘oh, so that’s, umm, how they get things done, I guess’

Now the ‘September Fight’ will be against people firmly convinced that they’ll get everything they want because everyone already folded to them already. And a public trained to understand that that’s just how they do things.

Sign that bill, you’ve given Democrats an open key to the wallets of every taxpayer (and the wallets of their great grandchildren.) Better for the president to be characterized at odds with all of Congress. Veto it, make Congress itself take full responsibility for porkzilla.

“how about marginalize?”

Marginalized? Really

How much more “marginalized” can President Trump be after being spanked by the minority party on his signature issue, while his party stands by and holds their coats?
This is the revenge of the #nevertrumpers. If he doesn’t fight he’s done.

I think Trump needs to tweak his tactics a little.

First, start firing some of the swamp critters still loitering around. Leave vacancies if necessary, just don’t tolerate the presence of back-biters in high places.

Second, engage the electorate. His rallies are still drawing huge crowds and those folks are ready and willing to help. Convince congresscritters that he will have them surrounded with torches and pitchforks come election day 2018.

Third, propose some legislation for Congress to chew on. Taxing money sent out of the country would be a good place to start, with the proceeds used to fund the Wall. Supporters would be happy to apply pressure to the congresscritters who balk.

Finally, get bold. There are many BIG changes to make, so let’s make get started on them. I’m getting a bad feeling from the lack of harsh, bold moves, after all we heard during the election.

RE:”Can you explain how a shutdown over the actual budget would be a better fight than over the interim funding now? I don’t see the advantage.”

By September some other excuse will come up.

Maybe war.

Then those calling for a shutdown can be called unpatriotic.

Trumps a businessman. He knows the bottom line and how to manage financing. He’s got to be disgusted with the budget and CR being used to finance his political detractors and opponents.

I loved his dual-use tweets about a shutdown -in September. Lol. He knows the conservatives will just put 1 + 1 together and say why not just do it now for a CR that funds their priorities via a simple majority. Turn it around. Make the dems come begging for their funding because they couldn’t compromise.

Many are still in Obamaland. It’s a fine line to not rock the boat too hard during a hard to starboard. He’s dealing with millions of damaged, captured minds controlled by serially-corrupt lobbyists and their media mouthpieces. They’ve been running the show for their own benefit for over 30 years -which is the last time there was an honest democrat.

I am quite certain enemies of the USA such as NK, Iran, etc. Have noticed that Trump caves if enough pressure is brought to bare. Not good. Tomahawks in Syria are one thing a real shooting war in Korea is another, particularly if Russia and or China decide to jump in.

If between now and September the GOP unites behind a detailed domestic and foreign policy - then effectively communicates its benefits to the citizens - a government shutdown is warranted if democrats block the policies.

If it’s business as usual a shutdown is stupid and our republic us doomed.

It was pretty much over when he signed on to RyanCare thinking he'd have a quick ‘win.’

There’ll be some scattered wins in the coming couple years, but he's just campaigning for the liberals in Congress right now.

But let's not just put the focus on the president; the people gave a great big giant finger towards the parties last November. All of the house is up for reelection in 2018, ‘safe’ seats in the senate.. I mean, MAYBE they've stuffed in enough pork to distract constituents back home.

Hey, I got what I wanted out of this administration, a massive wipe out of 16 years of extremely ineffective appointed minions. If for the next 3.5 years he simply focuses on managing the executive, it'll be what I'll take.

Would really have been nice to actually have him battling for us.

No its not all or nothing - signing this is capitulation. This is the exact opposite of what we campaigned for. I guess we are all to stupid not take what we don't want so we can get what will never happen.

This is Cromnibus II and is total BS
