May 1 - The US Supreme Court on Monday left intact California's ban on "gay conversion" therapy aimed at turning youths under age 18 away from homosexuality, rejecting a Christian minister's challenge to the law asserting it violates religious rights.

The justices, turning away a challenge to the 2012 law for the second time in three years, let stand a lower court's ruling that it was constitutional and neither impinged upon free exercise of religion nor impacted the activities of clergy members.

What is the logic that this doesn’t infringe on religion? Can churches still do this?

And what if we repeal it by the initiative process here in California?

Will the so-called Supreme Court of the United States tell us that curing someone of the psychosexual illness known as “homosexuality” is un-Constitutional, that you have a right to be mentally ill, and no one is allowed to try to help you?

they are trying to pass a law that states that churches are ‘not licensed psychologists’ and therefore not entitled ot do conversion therapy

I know that 2 negatives = a positive (I think I know that).

So, in the headline, there are 3 negatives:
1. rejects (negative)
2. ban (negative)
3. challenge (negative)

So, if two negatives = positive, does a triple negative bring it all back to = negative? I think maybe so; but I am still not sure.

I think I’d like to sit down with the headline writer. There is a way to express this w/o exploding the language (or the heads of the readers)

That breaks logic though (of course logic is never on the side of liberals).

If gay conversion therapy isn’t sanctioned/blessed by the phsychologist then how can they claim you have to be a psychologist to do it?

they claim gay conversion therapy is ‘dangerous to the individual’? Really? And encouraging kids to become homosexuals isn’t dangerous to those individuals who will get aids, syphilis, gonorrhea, blown out rectums, hepatitis, etc etc etc leading to higher incidents of suicide and severe mental illness

How many suicides have happened as a result of gay conversion therapy? How many lives have actually been SAVED because those who are converted are no longer living in the danger zone of rampant homosexuality and drug abuse? These courts should be sued for PREVENTING helpful therapy that saves lives and PROMOTING lifestyle of homosexuality that increase the dangers to individuals

In the last days- the people will exchange the TRUTH for LIES- that’s what we’re seeing happen with states stepping in and basically telling parents they have no right to try to save their child’s life by getting them out of the dangerous immoral lifestyle of homosexuality and drug use

“Let every man be persuaded in his own mind” (Romans 14:5)

You can’t convince a fool against his will. The church’s only responsibility is to deliver the gospel - the rest is up to the hearer.

A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still - some old saying.

I’m having trouble with all the negatives in the headline. I can process only one negative at a time.

It certainly makes the State the “parent” and destroys the Natural Duty of all parents embedded into our Constitution.

This is State fascism, forcing Marxism (satanism/both religions) on parents and doctors who proclaim there is no “free will” (choice) allowed (Christianity).

This is control of Thought, control of religion, and “practicing an insane, irrational religion of satanism (sodomy/baby-killing “rights”).

The SCOTUS has to force States to comply with our Constitutional Natural Rights from God. This fascism and practicing of medicine and takeover of children NEEDS TO END! It is unconstitutional.

I agree. That headline made my logic spin.

Perhaps if the headline was clear, no one would have to read the article. Only a few would. Not so much opportunity for ‘journalistic’ brainwashing.

In due time the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY will make His final ruling.

For a couple of them it won't be long until they meet Him.
I suspect that won't go well.

It’s easy to see why there is little respect for the courts at times. Where is the sense in trying to make it illegal to get someone out of the homosexual lifestyle? That’s brain-dead.

liberals write and rewrite the laws as they see fit- they claim conversion therapy can only be done by licensed psychologists, then turn around and ban psychologists from doing conversion therapy claiming it violates the rights of the confused person who is experimenting with the immorality of gay sex

not only embedded in constitution, but endowed by our creator as an inalienable right- The state thinks they have a right to take that inalienable right away from parents because in the state’s minds it amounts to ‘child abuse’

I agree. Headline makes no sense. I can’t tell what they ruled or what they were ruling on exactly.

Whatever it was, they let the lower court ruling STAND! (whatever it was????)

I'm going to guess it is a business that is IN business to DENY the business of converting fags back to normalcy and you can't deny a business from conducting business.

Anyway, that seems to be the logic, certainly of the ninth circus that overthrows perfectly good legislation and EO's.
