YAKIMA, Wash. -- When activists take to the streets Monday as part of an annual call for immigration reform, it will be against a backdrop of fear and uncertainty as the country’s new administration takes an increasingly hard line on deporting undocumented immigrants.
The March for Immigrants will circle downtown Yakima, visiting Rep. Dan Newhouse’s Yakima office, the federal courthouse and the Yakima County Courthouse before finishing back at Miller Park for presentations by immigration advocates.
“I think we had hoped that this would be the last march,” said David Morales with the May 1st Coalition, one of the march’s organizers. “Going into the election, we thought that there would be immigration reform, that all kinds of these issues would be solved.
“But instead of a celebration, we have the onset of a very dark moment.”

Law abiding American people have had a lot of dark moments thanks to illegals.
They think that an “enforcement only policy” is a bad idea. That is the first I’ve heard of this twist. ‘Tis still BS.
If the agriculture in this country will be harmed as much as they say, then there is a great deal more wrong that needs to be addressed.
Communist marching for the end of America, which is what amnesty would mean.
We must insist on vigorous enforcement to include ALL illegal aliens, not just those already caught and convicted of other crimes.
There are NO “law-abiding” illegal aliens.
They must ALL commit other crimes to continue their illegal presence.
We should not have to wait until they harm or kill Americans before they are removed.
Agreed, May Day marching is a purely communist endeavor. Their goal here is, as it always has been, to bring about the destruction of the USA.
Yakima County was 48.3% Hispanic in 2015.
I hope there are ICE agents there with facial recognition software panning the crowd of “demonstrators”.
