A person can fake unconciousness but they can’t fake a concussion.

>> The thugs who knocked Dao’s teeth out, broke his nose and gave him a head injury were airport security guards.

All that for cooperating?

It may be stupid to get violent, but it’s even stupider to file a real police report with video showing the opposite of what is in the police report.

All the before and after videos shows the personnel who removed him from the plane were the violent ones. Now if they said he was resisting maybe I will buy that but not violent in his resistance.

Which video did you see? I saw the video where law enforcement personnel physically removed Dao after he resisted their orders. Dao is an arrogant and stupid man, who must think being a medical doctor makes him superior to law enforcement jocks.

I would be on Dao’s side if they were trying to throw him off of the plane at 30,000 feet. He would have every right to act the way he did.

The law enforcement personnel who removed Dao were COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED IN FORCEFULLY REMOVING HIM BECAUSE HE DID NOT OBEY THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. Have you heard of any man or woman who resisted cops and won?

“Read the fine print.... I could almost bet the lottery will soon have small print that steals your jackpot too;)”

They don’t bother. They tax it.

In Canada, I believe that it is illegal for any Canadian taxing authority to tax Canadian lottery winnings. Although I don’t think it is legal for US citizens to play it I know those who do. If I played and won, I’d be singing “Oh, Canada” immediately.

Wrong. Munoz’ knee-jerk reaction was to praise the thugs who put Dao in the hospital. It was a day later, after United’s lawyers got his head straight, that he began groveling about Dao’s innocence.

In the role they were in, they were not police officers and never identified themselves as such. They were security guards. One has the authority to actually enforce the law - the police. The other needs to call the police to enforce the laws - security guards.

The police were not involved. Dao was a non-threatening, legally-boarded passenger. He was breaking no laws, which is why United avoided calling the police.

Is this the new Freerepublic profile? Shut up and follow orders from the mall police.

Do not complain when Barney Fife and his bullet arbitrarily orders you off the plane.

Comply.

I can’t believe the number of Stepford wives on this thread.

All that in massive violation of the laws governing Common Carriers.

Your point is irrelevant, and incorrect. My golden rule of survival for 37 years of driving in Chicago where corrupt cops abound, was to never argue with cops when pulled over. In 37 years of driving 70 miles round trip to work, I was probably pulled over 37 times. Not once was I physically harmed, and prevailed majority of times in traffic courts. I have brown complexion and speak with a foreign accent.

I am simply pointing out the difference between police officers and people who are not allowed to carry guns or make arrests, and who behave like thugs.

For all your deference to law and order, you certainly seem to get a weird thrill out of United breaking the law wholesale in their treatment of Dao.

Like I said, Dao deserved to get his teeth knocked out and physically dragged out for resisting instructions by law enforcement officers. Learn the lesson or face the same fate next time.

If I was forcibly removed from a seat that I had paid for in good faith, I would object as well. If it were the police removing me, I would not get violent, but I would be prepared to sue. United and the other airlines are brazen in their contempt for their customers - when I go into a store to buy groceries, I do not encounter store employees running up to me as I leave the store and grabbing things that now belong to me because their fellow employees would like them. That’s usually called theft, and the airlines practice it with impunity, while the police stand ready to aid them.

Hey, even if Dao was a raving sword swinging killer it still doesn’t change the fact that United mishandled the situation.
What if the raving lunatic had a bomb? Would it be ok if United dragged a nut carrying a bomb?
