Syrian Kurds urge UNSC to react to Turkish airstrikes
KOM News ^ | 25 April 2017 18:08 CEST | none stated

Syrian Kurds on Tuesday called on the UN Security Council (UNSC) to express its opinion regarding Turkish airstrikes against the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), a representative body of the Rojava federal region in Russia said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, Turkish planes had attacked northeastern Syria near the town of Derik in the Karachok mountains. The airstrikes targeted a media centre, a local radio station and some military buildings, killing civilians and YPG members.

“The international community and the UN Security Council should have a position of their own, and express their opinion with regard to Turkey, which occupies and attacks foreign territories, and its actions,” the statement read.

The Kurds stressed that the Turkish attack proved Ankara’s concern about the situation in which “the allies of the Turkish state, the Islamic State terror group” were at the moment, as there were no PKK bases in Syria.

Turkey’s General Staff confirmed that an operation against Kurdish positions was conducted.

Ankara considers the YPG to be affiliated with the PKK, which is listed as a terror group in Turkey, the United States and the European Union. However, the PYD and the YPG, as well as the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been receiving support from the United States in fighting IS in northern Syria.

It is clear that the EU is very disenchanted with Turkey's actions. They have already stated that with the new Referendum (stolen election) Turkey is no longer considered for entry into EU, because of their new form of government. (basically a dictatorship)

Now the Kurds in Northern Syria are appealing to the UN Security council for help.

Well, it is no secret they have relationships between both the US and Russia.

I don’t personally have an issue with that. There is however an old relationship between Kurds in general and the Russians going back to WWII. But remember, in WWII, Russia was our “ally”. (yes I know how that worked out)

Certainly President Sisi. He is a very smart guy. He protects Christians and works with Israel on controlling Terrorists.

I was waist deep in helping the opposition when they removed Morsi. And putting pressure on here to keep Obama from forcing Morsi back in power.

Egyptians and Sisi avoided a true disaster. Obama did all he could to bring the disaster about. I remember the signs of Hillary, Obama, and Anne Patterson during the demonstrations. Egyptians were livid about that.

Something is going down big time now as the Turks are basically invading northern Syria and Iraq and killing our Kurdish/SDF proxies who are being pulled away from fighting ISIS in Raqqa

Can’t blame this one on Putin - who is watching US armed proxies and allies killing each other while ISIS gets a break while helping assad kick ass vs Al Qaeda

U.S. policy in Syria of trying to triangulate the least bad guys against the worse guys is backfiring - bigly

In fact I would bet Russia ends up settling it out

The SDF is still engaged in Tabqa City and Raqqa. They have not yet pulled out.

The defense of the northern border is by those still in place, Turks have been bloodied pretty badly by the reactions.

I just saw some comments moving indicating that Turkey has apologized for the deaths of the Pesh on Singal. No apology for the 14 year old Ezidi boy killed.

What I think is going on is an examination of who was in fact notified of the strike. Sounds like Iraq is filing a formal complaint with the UN on Turkey for the air strikes.

Turkey is lying about what actually happened. Not surprise for an Erdogan the Islamist Dictator.

http://time.com/4757298/turkey-united-states-militias-kurdish-ypg/

Turkey is demanding that “ it’s” forces with the “ FSA” be the ones to liberate Raqqa

Some accounts looks like the US is trying to put our boots on the ground on the front lines in gamble that the Turks won’t kill US forces standing between Turkey and the Kurds

Will Erdogan blink or is he determined to take Raqqa , druve back and contain the Kurds?

Notice I am not mentioning SYRIA or Russia here. This goat rope is a US-NATO-TURKISH- PENTAGON- CIA circular firing squad

I’ve seen Dr Partizan before. He’s generally OK.

But no way is that convoy carrying US troops to N. Syria.
