I’m with you. Beckel is just a jerk. Unfunny and annoying in addition to being wrong on everything. If I had the chance to have a beer with him, I’d go the men’s room and crawl out the window to get away.

Juan Williams is just wrong on (almost) everything, but he isn’t a jerk and suffers occasional flashes of insight. There are many other Lefties who could (partly) fill the Beckel Chair on The Five, but as much as I detest him, I hope he stays right where he is.

For one thing, I could care less whether “The Five” succeeds or fails, I don’t watch FNC at that time anyway, never have. I don’t mind hearing a well-articulated liberal position as I have a “good brain” and don’t live in an echo chamber, but I just don’t like hearing it from HIM.

Two, he is the perfect face for ignorance, intolerance, and liberalism. He will attract absolutely NO independents like a more moderate Lib might do, and in fact he will probably piss off and drive away more mainstream Dems who don’t want to be associated with jerkhood.

I think The Five is an entertaining show. Somewhat like professional wrestling. You have Conservatives (KG & Waters), A Libertarian (Gutfeld), a RINO (Perino), and Liberals (Beckel and Juan). The show is much more entertaining when Beckel is on. He is the perfect punching bag for the other four. And he can be somewhat comical when he's not being a complete idiot. He's even comical when he is.
