BART police are beefing up patrols at Oakland stations after dozens of juveniles terrorized riders Saturday night when they invaded the Coliseum Station and commandeered a train car, forcing passengers to hand over bags and cell phones and leaving at least two with head injuries.
The incident — the first of its kind in recent memory — occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses told police that 40 to 60 juveniles flooded the station, jumped the fare gates and rushed to the second-story train platform. Some of the robbers apparently held open the doors of a Dublin-bound train car while others streamed inside, confronting and robbing and in some cases beating riders.
“At least two victims suffered head/facial injuries requiring medical attention,” said a police summary prepared after the incident.
Alicia Trost, a BART spokeswoman, said Monday that seven people were robbed — with the victims losing a purse, a duffel bag and five phones. Six people were robbed inside the train car, with a seventh confronted on the platform, she said. Police received no reports of guns or other weapons being brandished.
The attack was quick, police reported, and the teenagers were able to retreat from the station and vanish into the surrounding East Oakland neighborhood before BART officers could respond. The train was held for about 15 minutes as authorities interviewed victims and witnesses and tended to the injured.
Trost said police arrived at the station in under 5 minutes, but the robberies took place in just seconds. No officers were at Coliseum station at the time, but were patrolling Oakland stations, she said.

Yes, thank God you survived that encounter. My son-in-law as a young man had a confrontation with several black punks in front of a friend's home, he was trying to help another when the blacks were trying to crash a party. He ended up getting stabbed several times in the chest, ending up in critical care and almost died. He has scars on his chest from the life-saving surgery. That happened in Des Moines. My daughter often took BART from SF to Berkeley while she went to U.C. there, and said the type of passengers definitely changed for the worse on the Oakland side. She and son-in-law are now living in Des Moines, and I hope they don't encounter black punks there. Not a racist statement, just being realistic.
I did some quick research. If I were caught carrying a concealed handgun in California I would be charged with a misdemeanor. I would not let the lack of a permit from stopping me from carrying concealed in California.

Say a guy refused to be robbed and was beaten about the head.
Say he had a legal carry permit and was carrying. What would happen to him in California if he defended his belongings or perhaps his life?
and always conceal carry.....
Criminals who appear to be minors are given more protections than adult honest citizens.

Mix your shots:
1) Always shoot the men closest to you since they are the first threat. This will send others running.
2) Shoot the largest ones you can see. These bigger “yutes” will be the ones alternately feared and relied on in a fight by the gang. When they go down others will flee.
3) Shout wildly while you’re shooting: “I’m going to send all of you to hell...” “I’ve got a bullet for each and every one of you...” “Time for a reload [then make it obvious you’re reloading]. I can shoot you bastards all day. Then I’m coming for your families and friends.”
4) Save the last few rounds just in case.
By this time they will have left the car.

I agree. If the suspects are not identified yet, how is it known that they are minors.

We need our cowardly Congressional Republicans to pass National Reciprocity - now.
ALL Concealed Carry Permit, lawfully obtained in other states, need to be legal in ALL 50 states, including non-state resident permits. If you take the required training, pass the required background checks, and jump through all the rest of the hoops, you should not be subject to arrest and imprisonment in liberal, gun hating states.
