The front-runner for the Republican nomination in Virginia’s closely watched governor’s race is expressing discomfort with series of vulgar and predatory comments about women President Donald Trump made in a recording 12 years ago.

Ed Gillespie said at a Republican debate Saturday in Goochland that he was offended by comments from a 2005 Access Hollywood tape in which Trump boasted about groping women.

Some are afraid that Ed Gillespie will become the next Governor of Virginia. They want one of the other primary candidates so the Democrats can retain the Governorship and the media can spin it as a Trump loss.

Yes, he is leading in the polls and came close to defeating Sen Warner(D) in 2014, 48.3 % to 49.1 %. He is the most likely to win the Governorship for Republicans after they have been largely shut out of Virginia state wide offices.

Currently, there's Corey Stewart, and Frank Wagner. Stewart's running about 7% in the polls against Gillespie's 24-33, while Wagner's in 3rd with 5-9%.

Been there, done that. No one is going to defend it, but no sense digging up old news, unless you are trying to sabotage Trump. Trump makes one mistake and it gets beaten to death and then beaten some more. Meanwhile the democrats are actively corrupt on a daily basis, in deeds, not just words, and we hear crickets.
