Why Fox News to become more like CNN
WND ^ | 4/23/2017 | Art Moore

With the emergence of Rupert Murdoch’s politically progressive son, James, in the leadership of his media empire and the unceremonious exits from Fox News of CEO Roger Ailes and now flagship anchor Bill O’Reilly, the cable-news powerhouse’s niche as an alternative to the left-leaning CNN, MSNBC and broadcast networks is suddenly in question.

Advertiser money always looks for eyeballs, so Fox had a "right of center" monopoly for about 1/2 of the total target market. If/when OAN gets on Comcast and other major cable networks, that monopoly is gone. If Comcast avoids OAN, that could spark the next revolution as right of center people actively work around cable networks in order to get the viewing content they want.

And when the cable networks lose mainstream viewers, what will subsidize the Spanish language cluster of channels I already skip over? This whole transition at FOX could lead to the next generation of TV technology becoming popular.

FNC WAS a cash cow because it was the only alternative to the left/liberal networks. Many Conservatives, Republicans and, open minded Independents watched FNC. Murdoch’s sons lean left (and apparently the wife of one son a lib) so appears the station will go that route. It has been changing for a while...Marie Harf, former State Dept rep in Obama Admin, now a FNC contributor! Foolish of the Murdoch’s to think that their rich liberal friends will now switch from CNN, MSNBC, NBC, etc to FNC. imho, goal of liberals....including main stream media....complete take down of FNC. And, the Murdoch’s, perhaps unknowingly, may be helping to achieve this goal. FNC was the ONLY news station on my TV. As of last week, I no longer watch FNC; get my news from FR and local station.

If you haven’t tried it yet, try One American News (OAN) or online at oann.com

I sensed a change in Fox News after some of Murdoch’s employees were caught wiretapping in England(I think).

It’s akin to witnessing live, televised self-castration.

I totally agree. Judging by opinions provided by copious
qualities of FRiends on a constant basis no one network
is going to make all conservatives 100% pleased all the
time. However, whatever new or revamped network which could
replace a vacating FOX News will become a juggernaut rather
rapidly. The fact of life is that the market is there. It
is really no different than the Georgia 6th District where
the pajama boy ‘Rat garnished 48%+ of the vote against a
field of 11 Republicans.

They have bad audio. Sounds much different from other stations. The commercials sound fine, but the studio audio quality is unlistenable. Unfortunately.

I stream OAN and don't seem to notice much of that. Might be my system compensates? They are a bit rough around the edges but that will adjust with time and more viewership. Oh yeah and, FOX sux!

Ditto. Since the first Republican debate held by FNC when Megan Kelly went after Trump.
