Always read the fine print -- the last two months have been a real pain in the neck
Fox News ^ | April 22, 2017 | Janice Dean

My doctor told me there was a procedure that’s fairly new, but it’s changing the game in cosmetic surgery. It’s called “fractora,” an outpatient procedure done in the office that takes under an hour and that regenerates your natural collagen and tightens that old skin.

I went home and told my husband I wanted to do this.

Full disclosure: My husband hates the idea of any kind of surgery or injecting anything into my face. But I’ve convinced him that all of this is safe and I have a very well-respected doctor who has an office in Manhattan. I promise I won’t do anything else after this. OK, he relents. I know you’ve hated your neck since I started dating you. Hmmm…Was I that obvious?

The doctor comes in and performs the procedure. My husband picks me up and doesn’t say so at the time, but later tells me that I looked terrible. Especially the left side of my face. My head is bandaged and so is my neck.

I get home and my kids look a little scared. “What happened mama? Why do you look like a Q-tip? Are you OK?” Yes, boys. Everything's fine. I just had to go the doctor for a little thing with my neck. This bandage will be off tomorrow and I’ll be fine. But for now mama has to lie down.

The left side of my face was puffed out like a chipmunk. I followed the doctor’s instructions and elevated my head and took more Tylenol to minimize bruising.

The next day I took off my bandages. The left side of my face was still very swollen and I was finding it hard to talk out of that side of my mouth. I couldn’t chew properly.

So what is the point? That surgical procedures are painful?

Anyone who has ever had to undergo one understands that -and NEVER believe anyone who says; “Now, this won’t hurt a bit.”

If I can have a forever young soul, I should care almost nothing about how old my body gets.

Since it's "fairly new", there's a very good chance your doctor has performed very few, if any, of these procedures, and you were his guinea pig.

I wish she would have asked me first.

I would have told her she was the hottest weather woman in the media and not to change a thing.

I hope everything heals nicely.

She should have just gone for the laser skin tightening treatment. No side effects but you have to go multiple times. It takes awhile but works. I had the face tightening regimen about 7 years ago. Once a month for 8 months. Got rid of all my age lines with no pain, no injections and no side effects. Its expensive but effective.

Chicks very often feel some impulse to do something, they do it, then they regret it and it’s someone else’s fault, big time.

and they’re pissed off as hell.

I really feel sorry for plastic surgeons, sometimes.

I could understand perhaps the necessity of these modern cosmetological wonders for a woman whose stock and trade depends on looks-first, capability-second. A bad and fickle mistress that. And the only defense is “the need for that look.”

Any real man, a husband that loves his wife understands that every nook and cranny, fold and wrinkle comes with honor. Children, life, love and time.

In the end we men husbands understand that even if the head sometimes turns to some pretty young thing for a tic the real support and love and faith belongs with the one that has stuck with him - one whose value can never be replaced.

Don’t sell yourself short because of a bunch of younger, slimmer women that have no idea what you have and offer.

Oh, NOW I understand. It helps if you have a point to your post.

At least you are not as bad as some who post things like “This is the most awesome video ever!” and then put up only a link to the vid with no clue as to what they are going on about.

Cheers.

In actual totality, how many persons have died of vanity?
Be proud of your wrinkles, they appear to show the world that you’ve aged; and with age comes wisdom.

Janice, be well soon.

I figure in TV it’s part of the job, so they get a pass.

"...she was the hottest weather woman..."

You obviously haven't see any of the cable Latina weather women.

I don't have ANY idea what they are trying do on their forecasts but weather reporting is way down the list.

I believe her point is that folks on TV shows are vain and thus stupid

Oh, I have seen them and they are crazy hot—the key word is crazy. 20 more years of fajitas and they will look like blimps.

Janice is already 46 and looks great.

She looks like she would be a lot of fun.

On an early episode of Red Eye, the question somehow came up about whether all of her hair was the same color.

She said, “Well, let’s just say that the carpet doesn’t match the drapes!” and I LOL’d.

Funny beats crazy every time.

Not all procedures are painful. I had prostate surgery (green light laser) two years ago and it was painless.
HOWEVER, the next day I had the catheter removed - ow! - and trying to urinate for the next few hours was like pi$$ing razor blades.
