Judith Clark, the getaway driver in a fatal armored car robbery in 1981, has been denied parole, despite support from Governor Andrew Cuomo for her release.
Four months ago, Cuomo sparked controversy after he commuted Clark's life sentence, allowing the former revolutionary to seek early release for her role in the botched robbery of a Brinks truck in Rockland County.
After the ruling, he released a statement saying Clark deserved the opportunity to make her case and he respects the parole board's decision.
Clark has served more than 35 years of a 75-years-to-life sentence for her role in the shooting, which left a guard and two police officers dead.
While Clark’s supporters and the governor said she was totally rehabilitated, her critics, including relatives of the victims, said she didn’t deserve leniency.
The 67-year-old will be eligible for parole again in two years.

Read the account. She did not pull the trigger, but she effectively lured the police into a trap were two were killed. She was convicted of felony murder. She should have been executed, but today she collects a paycheck from Columbia University.

The Village of Nyack has erected monuments to the slain officers and holds an annual ceremony in their memory. Officer Waverly Brown, 45, and Sgt. Edward O’Grady Jr., 33, were killed on October 20, 1981 when they stopped a U Haul truck occupied by gang members who had murdered Brinks’ guard Peter Paige just minutes before.
When the officers tried to open the rear doors of the U Haul, the suspects, who were never all identified, came out shooting. Brown and O’Grady were instantly killed by a barrage of bullets from automatic weapons. Kathy Boudin, a passenger in the front seat of the truck, was apprehended as she ran from the scene of the carnage.

At the time, he just happened to live down the block from domestic terrorist bombers Ayers and Dohrn, who were also part of the Brinks robbery.
