Miami (AFP) - Budget cuts and political assaults on science are expected to draw thousands of demonstrators to the streets in more than 500 cities worldwide Saturday for the first March for Science.
Organizers insist that the demonstrations -- anchored by a major rally in Washington on Earth Day, April 22 -- are not aimed specifically at US President Donald Trump or any political party.

I am a member of Sigma Xi, which is one of the organizations involved in this March. Frankly, I am ashamed, but will not resign my membership for professional reasons. This “Scientific Honor Society” has also seen fit to weigh in on things like Transgender Bathroom Policy (guess which side). Part of the problem is that the Moonbats have co-opted so many once-legitimate organizations for political purposes.

Excpet they have no interest in Science. They have interest in wrapping their emotion based poltical dogma in a fake claim of “science” to silence any honest discussion of the utter lack of actual scientific validating for their infantile absurd pseudo scince opinions.
One of them said we will have no planet,where will we go?;)
The other part is the science community has prostituted themselves. Their need for money and funding has compromised a community that once had integrity.
What it’s really about is the threatened cuts to bloated research budgets. No more than that. Moochers with their hands out.
For Democrats everything is about Trump, everything, rain, sunshine, wind, traffic, CDC disease alerts, etc.
Well it certainly isn’t about science either

The “March for Science” carries lots of unacceptable baggage, including supporting unlimited immigration and immigration from terrorist countries, use of HB -1 visas to render older STEM graduates unemployable, the Big Lie that there is a “scientific consensus” on human-caused climate change, anti-Christian and pro-atheist policies, feminism, pro-LGBTQ, pro-islam, pro-abortion and euthanasia, globalism, and Soros sponsorship. I’m probably forgetting a lot!!!!
If you are a Trump supporter (especially one whom President Trump and his campaign or White House staff knows), and if you want changes in science-related policies (such as the NIH or NSF budget), simply write to the president. Stay away from the marches, do your Saturday errands, enjoy Bright Saturday with your family and parish, etc.
That goes DOUBLE if you are a member of AAAS, Sigma Xi, etc.
On Sunday afternoon when we return from Church and from lunch, etc., we are gong to be subjected to a special edition of the dreaded “Sunday Morning News Cycle”! I can almost guarantee that we will not like what will be reported about the marches one bit!!!! I of course don’t know what will happen there, but it will not be pretty!! Phooey!

When “science” becomes a political movement, the traditional meaning or the word has been corrupted into meaninglessness thereby.
It’s certainly not about science.
