FLYNN: O’Reilly Allegations Highlight Hot-Women-Only Cable News Culture
Big Journalism (Breitbart) ^ | April 20, 2017 | Daniel J. Flynn

Fox News Channel ditched Bill O’Reilly on Wednesday following the revelation of a series of sexual harassment allegations.

His accusers—including Juliet Huddy, Andrea Tantaros, and Gretchen Carlson—also tellingly no longer work at Fox News. But the women who never worked at Fox News strike as the ultimate victims. Those who share the chromosomes of the aggrieved parties but not a CV that includes girl-next-door looks, or a rock-star boyfriend, or a Miss America crown don’t, generally, get hired in cable news.

Strangely, the ladies that cable news regards as bringing viewers the most articulate, insightful opinions, cogent analysis, and trusted, steady delivery of information all exhibit a highest common denominator: 10. Even on The Five, viewers see no fives. God apparently blessed the best-looking women with the most desirable attributes in other categories, too.

Sure, ugly people can get on the Fox News Channel—if they’re guys (If you want proof of this, turn it on right now). But it really, really helps to appear really, really good looking if you want a spot on Fox News Channel and you don’t have a penis. The ladies never allowed within the sights of any Fox News Channel camera suffered from the sexism of the TV-news business far more than the on-air talent subjected to leers, propositions, and unwanted comments.

Where’s their multimillion-dollar settlements?

Sex sells, especially on cable news. Ugly women need not apply. Fat women need not apply. Old women need not apply. Hot women? You’re hired.

O’Relly on One America News? I sure hope so. He will still draw a huge crowd with his smirk.

“Stacking the lineup with stacked beauties seems creepy.” I agree. Trying to attract and audience with sharp ladies is a gimmick that interrupts the goal: to defend American families and businesses.

It’s a business that puts a premium on apppearance, just like the music industry puts a premium on the ability to play an instrument. Every field of endeavor favors some and disfavors others.

Nothing in this fact makes sexual harassment OK. It’s really just that simple.

"You cannot tell me that there are NOT some super-intelligent, very well-informed women—who look average.”

Notice how for some "unknown" reason Greta Van Susteren never complained about harassment.

Yes she has said "no comment" recently, but I'd be hard pressed to think she was ever harassed.

Yes, but O'Reilly, given a sufficient mea culpa to rehabilitate his image, could expand OANN to a much wider audience almost immediately...

Oh. Is that how we are playing it?

O’Reilly wasn’t boorish, arrogant and abusive. It wasn’t his fault. The women were too good looking! They owed him!

This makes me sick. Women who get raped deserved it for looking so hot.

So, if Mika ever turns on Joe…

Joe has other ways of dealing with female matters.

I find it annoying. Try watching Sky News (another Murdoch property, albeit London-based) available on YouTube. The women are attractive and intelligent, not a bottle blonde in the bunch, and the absence of histrionics and hyperbole is refreshing.

The male network anchors are better than average looking. Image is important on television.

OAN is the top real news station now. It is the best content and presentation of true news you can find on TV. You can get it on Roku or some of the networks but I’m not sure who carries it. We can’t do without it. It exceeds the very best that Faux ever delivered.

Greta Van Susteren got excellent ratings at Fox.

Her intellect was close to 10, but her physical attractiveness was well short of 10.

Also, the Fox Business News anchor and “Bulls and Bears” host, Brenda Buttner, who died recently, was a Harvard graduate and a Rhodes Scholar.

She, too, was well short of 10 on the beauty scale.
