Ted Cruz: Warren could beat Trump in 2020
The Hill ^ | 04/19/17 | John Bowden

Posted on 04/20/2017 6:39:49 PM PDT by conservative98

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is already worried about the GOP's chances of keeping the White House in 2020.

In a panel discussion Tuesday, Cruz warned that Democrats, led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), could retake the White House in 2020 if President Trump and Republicans fail to overcome party divides that threaten their ability to govern.

The old saw... Promote who you’d most like to run against.

‘Oh, please Mister Fox, please eat me and don’t throw me in no briar patch, please Mister Fox, don’t do that to me...’

The electoral vote in 2016 was actually pretty close.

Trump is in the White House because he carried states such as Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, North Carolina.

I don’t have numbers in front of me, but I think these key states he carried by narrow margins.

There’s also the issue of how the Democrat candidates in 2016, Hillary and the God awful Tim Kaine, didn’t exactly inspire enthusiasm and high turnout among the Democrat/liberal/radical/socialist base of voters.

If they have a charismatic candidate in 2020 for the Dems, this could be a tough re-election fight for Trump.

[Never underestimate the stupidity of Americans.]

2008 and 2012 certainly proved that. Never underestimate the stupidity of the liberal American voter. Never.

Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden got elected multiple times.

It still boggles the mind that so many FReepers hate a solid conservative Senator such as Cruz. Such hatred focused on this conservative representative. So bizarre.

A nation that voted Barack Obama into office twice is quite capable of voting Elizabeth Warren into office. Complacency is the exact opposite of what is needed.

Cruz-hating FReepers don’t need to read the article. They hate Cruz, and they exploit any opportunity they have to express that hatred ...

And at one time he had potential....

Now just another kook with his own replica of the Oval Office he sits in and wonders how it all went bad.

warren is dangerous because she is being sold to low info voters as being the reasonable and honest version of Hillary. underestimating her appeal would be the same type of mistake that Hillary supporters made with trump early on after he declared. I personaly think at this point she is there only viable candidate. at this point we as republicans and those that are not republicans but are conservative should be forcing her to go on record and into taking positions that her base loves but turn off most Americans.

The man sounds too much like Mr. Haney for me to take him seriously. I absolutely can’t listen to anything he says.

Cruz infuriated me during the 2016 primary, no doubt about it.

But I definitely do not hate him, and I hope he wins re-election.

I’d vote for him if I could.

He’s been solid since the election passed.
