Camille Paglia: Trump Already Headed Towards Reelection, Democrats Have Overplayed Their Hand

I watched the whole thing and just loved it. The fact that both of these "moderate lefties" have a sense of humor and wit made their comments very enjoyable. They are both very accomplished people, albeit much of it in superficial aspects of pop culture, but they both still have love in their hearts, and obviously both are smart enough to recognize that there is a lot of hard work involved in running a successful political campaign—work that Trump succeeded in accomplishing and Hillary did not. They may not like Trump, but didn't stoop to evil snarking and both gave him his due. As media figures, they both recognized that Trump's messaging connected with his base in a way the MSM and pollsters were too smugly insulated to have done properly.

I was particularly amused by Cohen's story about how he polled his Watch What Happens audience and they voted 62% for Trump— twice. Amazing that he had the balls to reveal the truth, both at the time and now. I also loved Paglia's detailed appreciation of Cohen's work, particularly in comparing him favorably to Johnny Carson as a genial host and in rejecting the nastiness of the other late-night hosts such as Colbert, Jon Stewart, etc. Quite insightful, and explained to me why I, and apparently many other Trump supporters, can enjoy his program even though he is an open LGBT promoter and default liberal.

That said, Andy Cohen clearly does not understand politics or the mechanics of the nation nearly as well as Paglia, and was often at a loss for words when asked direct questions about politics, demonstrating the typical state of default liberalism that depends on feelings and style and remains ignorant of substance. To his credit, he did not pose as an angry (though uniformed) expert, as the hardcore leftists do.

My own analysis comes from overhearing "normal" (???) libs talk, conversing with them, and looking at my wife's lib friends postings on Facebook. There isn't very much distance between them and the crazies that get the press coverage.

I do think a lot of them will get sick of being crazy, and as Trump's policies make things better, some will change, and some will hide by putting fingers in their ears shouting "lalalalalal, I can't hear you!"

Not panicking, but I do think there is a monstrous problem with that many people being so delusional.

For some reason or another the Democrats have aligned their selves with radical, perverts, and Hollywood elitists. They cannot come to grips with the fact main stream Americans still exist in enough quantity to elect people of their choosing. We do feel the ultra liberal know what is in our best interests. We do not want pervert using our children’s bathrooms. Get over it or get lost
