I was stationed in Korea for a short while. One of the first orders of business was a briefing on the capabilities of each side.

Basically, each side has around 10 gazillion rockets pointed at each other, and if anything happens, a 60 mile wide strip at the DMZ get turned to dust.

For this reason, I’ve always thought it would not only be more provocative on an international stage, but would also be much safer for Kim jun Yaba Daba to launch a missile at Japan. For some reason, I believe that would ignite a response in the form of strongly worded letters, while a hit on Seoul initiates MAD on the peninsula.

As for the here and now, it seems the Chicom head Fred had such a good time meeting Trump, he may have green lighted a strike on the Nork nuke launching sites...and I would not at all be surprised if that happened soon.

If -- and that's a big IF, considering their history -- the norks have any missile capable of getting any higher than the gantry, and IF they have a true nuclear payload they can pack, and IF they can somehow coax their coal-fired rocket to reach the continental US, they would unleash a shyte-storm that would turn their backward hellhole into a glow-in-the-dark backward hellhole. And NOBODY would stand in our way. It would be impossible to defend the use of nuclear weapons against another nation that has not attacked you.

And IF nork has any of those capabilities, I'm guessing it's one and done. They might manage to deliver one, which would exhaust not only their supply but our -- and the world's -- patience. They'd be signing their own death warrant.

Little Kimmy’s crazy like a fox, though. He’s not going to launch a nuke at the US, just act crazy enough so people think he’ll do it, then extort concessions, money, a diplomatic “reset,” or some damned thing or other, in exchange for a promise to give up his nuke and missile program, which he’ll then cheat on so he’ll have something for the next round of extortion. And this will be his trade from hereon in. “Gimme gimme gimme! And I be good. So ronery.” He needs to be slapped upside his head by both the US and China.

"That's if they could be able to launch 20 at a time and be fairly certain that they would all actually launch. Their percentage chances of success would appear to be pretty low and it falls within the realm of probability that one or both of the nuke warheads would be on missiles that failed to launch or fly once launched. "

Articles critical of ABM systems always ignore the ignore the reliability factor as it applies to the adversary. As we were recently reminded, not even Tomahawk missiles are perfectly reliable.

Our self declared experts are trying to assure Kim-the-Youngun that he can go ahead and try whatever he wants, that the Americans can’t stop him. Better for all of us if Kim were induced to not try because if he takes a shot, succeed or fail, the USA will be obliged to end North Korea as a country and that may or may not draw in China and Russia. The MSM and the “experts” really want a devastating military defeat for the United States. They seem to believe that with the American military and cities chattered they can finally rebuild America as a totalist Utopia with them in charge.

Time to find out now if that theory holds water.

Sooner or later we need to know, anyway.
