BREAKING: Jon Ossoff Finishes Below 50% (Another Humiliating Democrat Defeat)

This evening, all eyes were on the special election in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District as Democrats were hoping to flip the seat that has been held by Republicans for decades. The seat recently opened up after Republican Tom Price left to take over as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Going into the night, Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff was way up in the polls as a number of GOP hopefuls threw their hats into the ring. However, despite the fact that he was polling in the mid-40s, roughly 30 points ahead of his nearest opponent, Ossoff and Democrats knew he needed to get more support in order to gain at least 50% and avoid a runoff.

In the end, Ossoff ended up pulling in less than 50%, with totals showing him at 48.6% after a huge dump of votes came in from Fulton County around midnight, leading to numerous outlets to project this as heading to a runoff.

Why the hell did the Republicans run 11 candidates?

What else would you expect from the "party of the stupid?"

NO plan. Just reactions.

Because the law doesn’t provide for a primary

The question is asked when an entire field of Republicans is run against Lindsey Graham in the primaries, and some here shout, “You don’t understand how South Carolina primaries work!” Maybe not. But I do know they help Lindsey sleep at night.

Anyone can run in any race if you meet the requirements. The RNC or any other organization can't prevent someone from running.

It's called freedom.

“Are Dems really going to spend another 10-15 million in a Republican district?”

Exactly. The dumbocrats were hoping for a Scott Brown moment to humiliate the Trump admin but all they got for their $9 million was a stupid Jon Ossoff t-shirt.

Downside, she doesn’t support 2nd amendment.

Do you know that for sure, or was it just not one of her '5 things to know' list? I assume if she had 10 points to say, one would be she's a 2nd Amendment supporter, but that's my assumption only.

Oh the Dems have been doing this for generations; it’s just that now, it is more in the open.

Maybe more like an amoeba jerk.

With apologies to self-respecting, law-abiding amoebas everywhere.

Think of it as an investment with a big payout down the road.

I read that on a linked article from another FR discussion thread earlier today. Do not recall where it was.

Does anyone know what kind of place Fulton County is? Urban, suburban, or rural?

This is North Fulton County and that's a big difference from "fulton county"

This was Newt's area, cities include, Sandy Springs, Johns Creek and Dunwoody and also east Cobb County. The cities are well off, some of the wealthiest in Georgia. The problem I see is the areas are sprinkled with Democrats the cities are growing and younger Democrats are moving in. If they show up and the Republican voters stay home then we have a problem.

I may have read incorrect information (from occupied ga wrote in another FR thread that she was anti-gun and RINO). I just glanced around and found material suggesting she is strong on 2nd amendment. Either way, she is Republican and can’t be any worse that the current House members.

.......”what kind of a fool spends $8mm of your own money to run for the US House. What a jerk!”.......

They consider it an investment for their future payoff....years of it if their lucky.
Congress is more like a Large Investment Firm...with payouts depending on where you place those bets.
They usually don’t have that much money going in, so donars donate for special favors to get ‘them’ in with the in crowd.
There’s enormous amounts of money to make in Congress.
