I find it interesting that liberals loathe censorship. Except, try to show films of an abortion.
Which brings to mind a basic truth of the multiverse: “If liberals didn’t have double standards, they’d have no standards at all.”
Every culture practices infanticide in one shape or form. Give it a soft selling name out of focus groups and you get “pro choice”. Along with “products of conception”.
Somehow, I’ve never really agonized over this. As I see it, there are two questions here:
1) Is abortion wrong?
2) Should women who abort be punished?
In the wake of Roe v Wade, I only concern myself with Question #1 — I say abortion is wrong, and I want to see abortions end in about 99.9999% of cases. That’s the big thing for me.
Punishing the women? Such an idea pretty obviously gets in the way of the solution to Question #1.
Only the Pro-Abortion people want to obsess over the need to punish women who abort. As a Pro-lifer, I have no interest in it.
Abortion is politically correct murder. Socially acceptable (to Leftists) and encouraged by the Left. Their souls will suffer, as do most women who realize what they have done, after the fact.
Ok, don’t put the mother in jail. Since the doctor is doing the scraping, lets put the doctor in jail.
Tell you what, we’ll put the woman and her doctor in a cage and let them fight it out.
Try to imagine the mindset of a woman who knowingly kills the unborn human life which is her own conception. A man who knowingly partners with such a woman is a fool and will have a miserable experience.

What doctor? As far as I’m concerned, the doctor has surrendered his right to be a doctor if he violates his Hippocratic oath.
From the Hippocratic Oath:
“Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course. Similarly I will not give to a woman a pessary to cause abortion.
... Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. Above all, I must not play at God.”
The amount of guilt depends on how much they really know about what happened and what they were thinking and doing at the time. Thanks to lies the legality of abortion is foggy; the same lies cloud the morality.
There’s no difference between abortion and turning your neighbors in to be sent to a death camp. They’re both legal.
I’ve not heard anyone say they want to punish women for abortion. Most people leave that to God. I suppose there are some real zealots out there that want to put these women in jail. I don’t.
If they abort the baby, how are they “mothers?”

You seem to express a great deal of outrage at abortion. But how wrong can it really be if you don’t want anyone punished at all?
Like calories without fat?
How can anyone justify abortion - the killing of one’s own child?
Society needs to elevate the moral values (and return to the values that Jesus Our Lord taught us) that we hold important.
Yes we have good people that follow moral laws, and we have others who do not. Why should people that harm society not be punished?

The question is: Should women be put in prison for having an abortion?
My position is: Abortion dies as a political issue if one of the goals is to put women in prison for having an abortion. I want the number of abortions to decrease so I do not want abortion to die as a political issue. So putting women in prison is not something I have any interest in.
You ask: “you don’t want anyone punished at all?” Oh, I want doctors to lose their medical license at a minimum. And prison time for them is a distinct possibility.
Is there a contradiction? I simply don’t care. Murdering children is bad and I want it to stop. Nothing else carries equal weight.
Agreed.. this is just picking the scab of a wound. I am most assuredly pro life, but I have spoken to these women. More than 50 percent are being coerced or pressured into the abortion. If they go to jail, then send their baby daddies and other abetting people to jail to. This does not fix the problem. I am calling for everyone to post ultrasounds on Mother’s Day. Ultrasounds have come a long way baby.
This must be one of the ways people compromise with and then eventually turn to the dark side...
