How to plan for your family before you are deported

PHOENIX -Marco Tulio Coss learned heartbreaking news for his family Wednesday afternoon.

He walked out of ICE headquarters in downtown Phoenix knowing his days in the United States were numbered.

Thirty to be exact.

"I don't have a criminal record,” he said. “I'm clean."

His story is like many others: He has been here for 18 years, he has no criminal history other than a minor traffic stop, and he works on a permit issued by the same department that has now decided to kick him out of the country.

His scheduled deportation date is May 12 at 10 a.m.

"I don't know that I would say I'm confident they are going to grant [a stay of removal],” said Coss’ attorney Ravi Arora about the possibility of changing his client’s fate.

The day Coss is removed from the country, what is his family supposed to do in his absence?

"[There is a] tool kit that provides guidance for someone who thinks they may be in jeopardy of being deported,” said Petra Falcon of Promise Arizona.

She called it a priorities plan, and you can pick it up at Promise Arizona's headquarters.

"it should be in a safe place at home or in a safe place with somebody you trust,” she said.

It's a 12-page document to note important information about your family, their medical needs, your property and the location of certain items such as your children's school records, passports and police reports if you were a victim of a crime.

"It could qualify you for applying for status because you suffered a crime or domestic violence,” said Falcon.

Bye. Take your family with you and don't come back. Tell everyone back home America is closed. No freebies. No jobs.

CT posted the same thing on line with our governor (ranked 48th in the nation) touting it as if it was something honorable to do. I abhor Malloy. These people should just go.

The primary step is to first ensure that you haven’t become a criminal by breaking immigration laws of the United States. Mexico and so many other countries don’t put up with it but I don’t hear our bleeding hear media crying about it.

My opinion is immigration from Mexico is not terrible if the people come to work hard. Such people work harder than many natives and contribute to society. But the freebies that our country gives away makes the system a hot mess. You can’t take on the world’s poor in a welfare state and expect immigration to be anything but a net loss for the host country.

It’s a shame because immigration used to be a net contribution for our country.

Take them with you.

Exactly.

If you don’t, you’re a cad.

translation: Smack the old lady around good before you are deported, then she and your child can stay.

"I don't have a criminal record...I'm clean"

OK,strictly speaking that could be true. The same is true of me in fact. However,to the very best of my knowledge I've never violated a Federal law.Can you say the same,Pedro?

How to plan before being deported: Pack your stuff. Cancel all your freeloading benefits. Tell your kids, they are going to get to live in a new place. Give notice to your landlord. Get the kids’ school records, so you can re-enroll them in their new home country. Sell your winter clothes, and buy more sunscreen, if you will need it in your new location.

There is a large Mexican family here, who arrived in town nine years ago. They already own four grocery stores and a restaurant. You can find them in one of the family businesses busting hump every day.

THAT is the sort of immigrant we need.

Milton Friedman - "you cannot have open borders and a welfare state".

So take your pick.

Yeah families like that should be proof enough that welfare is cruel. We have welfare islands throughout this country where hope is in short supply. Men especially are ruined without the dignity of meaningful work.

I was driving through various neighborhoods of Chicago yesterday. It amazed me how the men’s deportment in the high crime/welfare neighborhoods contrast with the more prosperous parts of the City. The men in the bad neighborhoods really look like they have no hope and no purpose.

I’m sure they are legal. You need too many permits to sell food in this county.

Tie brightly colored strings on your suitcases so you can identify them quickly and easy!

In L.A. you have Koreans come here and open small businesses, then the local underclass becomes resentful and turns violent on them.

“There is a large Mexican family here, who arrived in town nine years ago. “

The open question though is how did they “arrive?” If they are legal migrants, welcome, glad you’re here, OTOH if they snuck into out country. bubbye!

Interesting thing I read about the black hair care business. That business is huge as black women spend a crazy high amount of money on their hair and it’s a niche market too. Koreans have essentially taken it over. I was watching a documentary on Youtube about it. The trade shows they have even went so far as to distribute literature in Korean. Those Koreans were solidifying their gains as of the date of documentary.

Of course they couldn’t come into such a market if they weren’t providing better service or a better price.
