I’m wondering if this is a signal for a military coup. Chine must have people inside NK to relay the offer....take him out and live OR die with him!!

If I were on his immediate staff, I’d be wishing I was on vacation right about now. You know what happens when a brat doesn’t get his way.

Oh No, not allies - useful puppets, but not allies. The Chicoms could overrun both Koreas in a week if they wanted to. My guess is Trump read China the riot act last week at Mar A Lago, and I expect a US Tomahawk strike followed by Chinese PLA movement from Yalu river to capital of NK, with installation of a new NK leader within months, if not weeks....

It means the Chinese can fabricate an excuse at their convenience.

We know someone who’s father was an upper echelon officer in south Korea. She said the S. Korean military is scary tough.

And that’s the issue. SK could run the table militarily with NK in short order, but a lot of people in Seoul would die.

I think the only way you might mitigate that (mitigate, not eliminate), is if you went nuclear on day one.

A bloodless coup is more likely

More like China pulls the strings of the puppet NORKS. I think if it wasn’t for China, North Koreans would starve.

Even trade, a quasi-most favored nation status with China in exchange for ending the Korean War.

If Trump ends the NK threat, that will be something.

Dang. Trump is gonna clean up the Syria mess, and NK mess within a year of taking control. Amazing how fast things are happening and how uncomplicated it is.

What Trump said to Xi over dinner was:

"What North Korea is doing is bad for business. Which of us should handle the contract?"

The subsidence is not consistent with a leak. In fact, the drillers contracting for LANL and LLNL, namely REECO, were extremely adept at back filling and plugging the vertical shaft such that a very high percentage of collapses associated with the underground events did not leak. It was rare to have the kind of egregious leak that threatened workers or the surrounding communities. However, as one can find on the web, it did occur. LLNL used gas sampling as a means to estimate device yield. This required the sampling crew to rush to the site and hasten drilling into the newly-created cavern to collect radioactive gas, before the collapse occurred, if it occurred. Of course, each site was ringed with seismic units to catch early tremors of the impending collapse. After many years, they could estimate the collapse or lack thereof very accurately in the various shot locations of NTS, based on the strata, device yield, cavern size, etc. The far smaller shots were not likely to collapse as the cavern was smaller and supported the overburden far better than the big shots in the 100-150KT range.

I’m in SK. The people I’ve met here despise the NK leaders. The DMZ is a serious place. SK can kick some serious butt, if unleashed.
