you got that right. I for one never doubted McConnell when he repeatedly stated multiple times a couple of weeks ago that Gorsuch WOULD be confirmed on 4/7/2017.

I never doubted Gorsuch getting confirmed. Even the Democrats know that they would not prevail in getting a conservative replaced with someone not conservative. There was a lot of posturing, but the outcome was never in doubt.
I'll tell you one thing that really moved him up a few notches in my book, though ...
John McCain made a pathetic statement today about how the "nuclear option" would be terrible for this country ... after he had already voted to exercise it. McConnell did a masterful job of keeping every Senate Republican in line on this one.

Joe and a few other Dems will vote for Gorsuch on Friday. This points out that even though RINOs are a pain, they almost always vote with the party on procedural votes. It is important because the majority party sets the terms of debate (at least in the House) and the rules surrounding it. I have seen Susan Collins often vote with the party for various procedural votes on an issue and then vote against the party when the actual issue is being voted on. It seems contradictory, but it really isn't.
It seems weird, but it makes sense. As the majority party, it should be able to make the rules as to how a bill will be debated, when a bill will come up for a vote, the order, etc. So, Susan will always vote with the party on all these procedural votes and then vote against the issue when it actually comes to a vote. A majority party should be able to dictate terms and these RINOs oblige in this area, as they should.
Most all procedural votes generally garner little or no news coverage, but are very important. I'm sure you have noticed in some campaigns a challenger will have an ad claiming the rep or senator voted for or against an issue based on this vote on this date. The incumbent will balk saying it was only a procedural vote.
While RINOs and DINOs on the other side are painful, their value is in the procedural votes.
Well, the pubs have never filibustered a Supreme Court nominee, so the issue is moot. Kegan and what’s her name were not filibustered even though they could have.
If you want to see how dumb the Democrats/Leftists are, just read the comments by them. No knowledge of the Constitution, history (re Schumer/Reid’s rewriting of the Senate filibuster procedure), pure lies, bullshit, and blind-hatred.

The dems are chomping at the bit and can't wait to vote in 2018, just as the republicans were in 2010. For reasons unknown, the voters for the party in the WH, don't vote because they are happy and satisfied or they are mad because the president did not do exactly what they wanted so they don't vote.

The 30 hours is not considered a filibuster. Both parties get to debate for a maximum of 30 hours. The 8 hours apply for the next one.
They are allowed 30 hours of debate before the vote.
I was asking about whether the filibuster Nuke was a Bill that needed to be signed by him. Didn’t realize it was just a Senate “rule change” that is now official.
