Agreed. Which is why I support this move. Let’s hope we don’t lose the presidency and senate for a while!

-- I do have one question: this SEEMS to open this option for every other Trump nominee. --

It restores normal "majority rule" function for all judicial nominees. Deviation from that common practice and allowing minority veto of judges was implemented by the DEMs in 2001, and acquiesced by the leftist GOP players (see "gang of 14").

I've been hearing that it's Clarence Thomas who wants to retire. This would allow Trump to appoint a young conservative replacement without a huge firefight. When one of the libs goes, there will be rioting over whoever replaces them.

And I think it would be hilarious if President Trump nominated Garland (or whatever his name is) again. Then what do the Dims do, denounce and ridicule their magnificent, heroic, black, intelligent, wonderful, lawful, handsome, etc., hero's nominated person?

I meant to say:
In the case one of the libs (hint Ginsburg) drops dead I think it would be hilarious if President Trump nominated Garland (or whatever his name is) again. Then what do the Dims do, denounce and ridicule their magnificent, heroic, black, intelligent, wonderful, lawful, handsome, etc., hero’s nominated person?

Flame suit on. This is short term thinking. What happens if a Dem becomes president?

Flame suit not needed, your brand of stupid is not subject to flame throwing...pity is required.

Just look at what happened when any demonRAT was pResident, they always got their pick of justices.

I don’t know what the alternative is for now however.

Well the fillibuster in the past didn't stop Ginsburg, Sotomoyer or Kagan, so it would never stop any bat crap crazy lib.

The same thing that would have happened in any case. When they needed the nuclear option Harry Reid chose it. The next Dem leader would have done the same.

Unless they get a Supermajority in the Senate, Gorsuch cannot be Impeached.

Besides, they would have to prove that Gorsuch did something to deserve being Impeached, which he didn’t.

He had nothing to do with the Senate Rule change which would be the only reason the Rats would give it a try.

Yes, I know I’m not saying anything that most here already know. LOL

Hey LS, Off topic question.

Admired your analysis during the election, and wanted to get your early view on the Senate situation in 2018.

Do you think the Republicans get 60 seats in 2018?

I wouldn't count on it. She beat Pancreatic Cancer...she's a tough old buzzard.

That old bitch has been dead and mounted for years.

They have robots moving her limbs and recordings for her voice. They will keep her body preserved for decades.

Limbaugh explained that initially the party with the phoney name (my attribution not Rush’s ie democrat in name only) set up these filibuster rules in 2003 to keep Bush from selecting judges in appeal and district courts. Before then the filibuster procedure didn’t apply so it’s back to the old ways.

BOOM!!! Indeed.

Our votes counted. We elected the only man who can save the country. And he appointed the first judge that can save the Constitution!

All other news pales in comparison.

HUGE question: Will Schumer release the other vulnerable Senators to vote past the 60 threshold as his final trick?
