US spy agencies intercept and unmask congressional figures as often as once a month

The U.S. government’s foreign surveillance sweeps up American lawmakers and their staffers so routinely now that Congress is alerted as often as once a month that its employees involved in intercepted conversations have been unmasked and their identities shared with intelligence or law enforcement agencies, Circa has learned.

The so-called Gates notifications — named for former CIA Director Robert Gates — go to the Gang of Eight leadership team in Congress. 2 of 29 The Gang of Eight includes the House speaker and minority leader, the Senate Republican and Democratic leaders and the bipartisan heads of both chambers’ intelligence committees.

Often though, the affected lawmakers or congressional aides aren’t told about the unmasking, unless it involves a security or hacking threat. So some affected lawmakers may not know about their appearance in unredacted executive branch intelligence reports, according to intelligence community sources, who spoke only on condition of anonymity.

The notifications are just one of many growing signs that what once was considered a rare event inside the intelligence community — the unmasking of a conversation involving Americans captured overseas by the National Security Agency or the FBI under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act — is now becoming more widespread after President Obama lowered the thresholds and privacy protections for such sharing starting in 2011.

I’m going to try and refrain from any further posting today (at least on this issue), as I’m pi$$ed beyond belief!

I don’t have the energy to keep denying the reality of what I’m seeing. Sometimes Sh*t, is just Sh*t!

A man does nog do that.
I think this is a HUGE sign that the establishment from both sides are trying to keep the lid on what can be found regarding spying and unmasking.

Could be the kind of thing to take down tons of CONNECTED people.

Instead of this week being about Susan Rice, its now the Democrats have a Bannon-Nunes Victory Party. I hate the Republicans as more than the Democrats and Trump is quickly joining that group.

Yet another mistake by Trump. You never give into the democrats. Never. You start arresting them but I suspect he will not do a thing to the traitors like the clintons and obama etc.

Why don’t all the Republicans and Trump appointees just resign at the behest of the never Trumpers and Demonrat party? Just get it over with.

Good thing Trump came to his Defense. Oh that’s right, he didn’t. Nunes soldiered up and exposed Obama’s “Wiretapping” of Trump, and Trump did nothing to help him when the shit hit the fan.

oh, I see. So if someone writes a letter to the Ethics committee, the Ethics committee automatically opens an investigation?

Alrighty then, who should we start with? Maxine Waters for one, Fakahontus for another, McCain for another, Schumer for another, Schiff makes the list, and the list goes on and on. I might even run out of paper.

Well, they can’t stop Trump via threats and lies... so they are going after anyone who supports him.. hoping to scare each and every person who might serve Trump in his administration.

Sorta like using the IRS against Conservatives!

If it isn’t to remove anyone who supports Trump.. helps Trump... then what is going on with Nunes and did I just hear there were charges being brought against him? If that is so, it’s time for a nuclear showdown toward the dems... overtime for the dems to be stopped!!
