Sessions already recused himself from any investigations into the "Trump/Russia" thing. You could say that Nunes has "pulled a Jeff Sessions".
IMO Trey-G was as complicit in the Fraud’s crimes against America as the rest of the House was for six years.
If it were Trump doing this I might be inclined to agree with you, but it’s a congressional Repuke so I’m inclined to see this as another cave-in on Nunes’s part.

Nunes steps aside so that when Trump sidelines McCabe and Comey when accusations officially get leveled at them, the bitching from the left can be dismissed with a wave of the hand.
(e.g. Spicer responds in the press briefing to whiny MSM, “Sessions and Nunes recused themselves when accused with baseless charges. It’s only appropriate for Comey and McCabe to be handled similarly when charges that appear on their face to be much more serious have been brought. Next question.”)
LEFTIES/Dem have filed SEVERAL ethics complaints against Nunes. Looks like they've been able to put him "under investigation" to take him out of the picture and shut him up.
