Washington CO outside of Portland was fairly conservative until H1b flooded Intel.
In my area any multi-family building that rents to an Indian quickly becomes “Indians only”; I honestly believe it is related to the strong smells associated with their cooking. It is really powerful, and non-Indians would find it unbearable.

Exactly this scenario. Pure absolute greed. President said it himself. He used the H1B because it was made available and so tempting for businesses.
Get rid of the H1B and that will solve this problem.

We just tried overseas outsourcing a code conversion project to India 3 years ago.
The project management was a disaster for many reasons.
1. Biggest issues were language barrier. (almost impossible)
2. The code was absolute crap, almost like they just used an automatic code converter to JAVA. No documentation in the code and you could hardly read it. Debugging and maintenance was almost impossible.
3. Millions lost. Whole project scrapped 2 years in. BTW: This is fortune 500 company. Top 50.
4. The name of the project is still a running joke around here. Still gives me heartburn just thinking about it.
5. When the high level management finally trusted the in house programmers, the project was done in 18 months for fraction of the cost.
6. End result: Code is easy to read, efficient and basically written from scratch. Debugging and maintenance is much easier, especially since the programmers don’t leave after the project is done. They are available to support their code.
7. Many of the programmers took classes learned the new coding language and brought all that experience with them.
8. Win-Win
That is was happens when people start living off the government dole.
Just like SECTION 8 slumlords and EBT cards with local stores.
Most of the urban stores have 95% EBT card transactions.
Sickening.
The creatures that live in the “swamp” are not going to be happy as “HANDOUTS” are taken away.
Like free food, free smart phone, free housing, free spending money...
Good news is that most couldn’t find their backsides with both hands, to many drugs.
I rather like Indian food and would only be bothered if nobody invited me to dinner:)
I’m not a fan in any case, but if you walk past an Indian restaurant and smell how strongly the curry aroma wafts forth, you realize there are homes behind it that get this all day. They’ve had their last backyard barbecues...
exactly. And that’ll probably be cheaper, so even more jobs lost
So, while there is a case of STEM graduates and professionals not employed in STEM, it is not 3 out of 4
