You may have a point, but there is not a better time than know to take Ryan out and replace him than now. He’s wounded, perhaps mortally, in his current position. I think the problem is no one wants the responsibility of herding the cats.
100% spot on in your prediction.
‘Do you think a President Cruz would have locked her up’
I haven’t heard Cruz calling for Congressional investigations into Hillary’s crimes. Perhaps I missed it.
No, Rino care failed because of this:
Freedom Caucus poised to back Ryan as speaker
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/freedom-caucus-paul-ryan-speaker-231218
Ryan’s Obamacare replacement plan was already out at the time and the freedom caucus still backed him.
Trump obviously wants Ryan out (check his tweet about judge Jennine and then what she said at the show). In the meantime he has no choice but to work with him. Ryan is the speaker of the house (thanks to the freedom caucus). Trump’s entire legislative agenda will go through him.
The only beneficiaries of a diminished POTUS are GOPe and Dems. They will seize the agenda and Conservatives will get nothing. Be careful what you wish for.
Most of those Freedom Caucus members have a track record of voting to make either Ryan or Boehner Speaker of the House.
They did not vote against either which to me is a litmus test of authentic Conservatism. They want to posture as Conservative while keeping the RINO leadership in power.
Yep. I call them GOP plantation conservatives. Specialists in beltway kabuki to keep the unwashed conservatives back in the district on the GOP plantation.
I see the leader of the kamikaze caucus is already talking about abandoning their “principles” on offset spending. What a bunch of frauds.
Great points. I keep hearing that no one else wants to be Speaker. How is this known? Are all the Republican reps on record saying they don’t want it? I haven’t heard that reported anywhere.
If the FC keeps going public with their support of Ryan, that will certainly discourage anyone more conservative from broaching the idea. Maybe that’s exactly why the FC has, post-Ryancare-fiasco, reiterated their support for Ryan—to make sure no challengers emerge.
Left is path of least resistance...and one for which his daughter will advocate. The only thing keeping him right is his base...and if you turn a blind eye and keep telling him its okay to break promises to those who voted him in...the left side of the WH wins
And finally, there’s a lot of justified I told you so from those who weren’t in the deep end for the President.
You don’t get it. It’s not about blind loyalty to Trump. It’s about saving as much of Trump’s campaign agenda as possible. No GOP POTUS can advance his agenda while fighting both wings of his own party, the lobbyists, the Dems and MSM.
Conservatives either hang with POTUS or we hang separately. Sometimes that’s going to mean accepting he does things we don’t like. It’s that simple.
What’s your beef with Dina Powell? I searched about her and nothing jumps out at me as being a huge problem...
But again, he’s after applause. That’s his morale compass. If he gets none from the left, he won’t stay there long. If he gets none from the right, he won’t be there either. Frankly I don’t know what he does when the applause light won’t work.
Trump’s Message: Look folks. You see the problem. I came to Washington DC to make a difference and get things done. I am getting very little help.”
I have read that the GOPe is HIGHLY offended by all of Trump’s “Drain the swamp” rhetoric. That would explain a lot of their sabotage. This is personal to them.
It really doesn’t matter what Trump does or doesn’t do. He let the nationalist Jeanie out of the bottle and there is no going back.
Hence my post. Contacting Trump, the WH, and his most influential advisors actually could have a positive impact. Griping relentlessly about Trump helps only the GOPe and the Dems—as someone previously noted.
We hired this guy to fight. Hes not fighting.
LOL. He’s fighting about five nuclear wars at once. What were you expecting?
How about the red states declare war on the blue states. How personally would they take that?
IOW, it's ok when Trump breaks his promises, major ones at that. He's done some good things, no doubt, but this retreat on the border fence cuts at the heart of his campaign.
there is not a better time than know to take Ryan out and replace him than now. Hes wounded, perhaps mortally, in his current position
Sorry, we’re not going to get anybody substantially better than Ryan in that position. Anyway, it’s not going to happen and would be suicide for the mid terms.
How can trump investigate all the clinton shenanigans with her various foundations without looking at teneo. Do you remember the wikileaks about doug band...teneo....
Why hire the wife for security council if you are going to investigate her husbands company in a clinton investigation.
It would make no sense
