Bundy Ranch-Ryan Bundy talking about conditions of the jail 3/24/2017 (BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF)

(Ryan Bundy)(at :37) "......As an innocent man in the legal system I am to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. The only purpose for detention is to insure I will arrive in court on time and in the right place, that's the only reason.

And yet, here I'm being held and have been held for 15 months or so simply to make sure I get to court. And in the meantime they want to impose all types of restrictions upon me that prevent me from preparing for my defense, prevent me from seeing and living with my family...that violate my rights.

And now they have gone so far as to put me in a concrete box that's only seven foot wide and eleven foot long....no windows to the outside world....there's a little toilet seat in here but the toilet's plugged, it's been plugged the whole I've been here.....

The harsh conditions facing the Bundys and other prisoners in Nevada are being revealed in this video with 64 thousand plus hits on Facebook so far.

Prisoners being held in solitary confinement as Ryan describes some of the details.

Ryan Bundy is making a phone call from prison describing the conditions he is living under.

The video at the link has the prison's phone number for those who wish to call and demand an end to the harsh conditions for the prisoners like Ryan and Ammon Bundy.

Ryan Bundy and his brother Ammon Bundy are among prisoners being held at the privately owned Southern Nevada Detention Center in Pahrump.

Ammon Bundy has reported being constantly strip searched when he goes into the prison yard daily in the midst of his solitary confinement for refusing to submit to searches.

Ammon was in court last Friday for a hearing about adding a new lawyer appearing in his underwear. Ammon refusing to dress himself after the guards forcibly removed his clothes for a search.

They and their father Cliven Bundy are scheduled to face trial later this year over the 2014 Bunkerville Standoff.

The protest in Oregon last year which put the Bundy's in jail in the first place was on behalf of the Oregon rancher's Dwight and Steven Hammond, who remain in a federal prison serving five year mandatory sentences as "terorrists" for lighting a backfire to protect their land from a brush fire.

The POTUS and his AG Jeff Sessions need to release the Hammonds from jail and get the prisoners in Nevada out of jail while they await trial.

I don’t see a problem here. All he had to do was say he was an illegal alien, and they would have released him on his own recognizance.

I am not spun up enough to render a credible opinion based on the facts (I have one, but opinions w/o facts are well, you know...).

However, it appears from this article and your comments that the Bundys are being made examples of. This is wrong.

There are people in jail who have done far, far worse who are not treated like this.

IIRC, the Bundys supported the Hammonds, who did not want their support or participation. I wonder if the Hammonds have changed their tune after seeing what the Bundys are going through?

“The POTUS and his AG Jeff Sessions need to release the Hammonds from jail and get the prisoners in Nevada out of jail while they await trial.”

Absolutely.

It was disappointing that this was not mentioned at all during the campaign (unless I missed it), and a shame it’s not being addressed now.

Clearly cruel and unusual punishment.

The protest in Oregon last year which put the Bundy’s in jail in the first place...

...

It was more than a protest. They were trying to take federal land through adverse possession.

I agree Jeff Sessions ought act ASAP to free these political prisoners of the Democratic Party, and Senator
Harry Reid. But Nevada is NOT a State equal to all others.
It —and the people who live there are owned by the Federal Government. Harsh Reality exposed Truth in this sad story!

Indeed,

The failure to step in and put an end to this travesty of justice is the single biggest failure of the Trump Presidency so far.

They were trying to take federal land through adverse possession.

*************

I believe they had some history of that when Cliven wouldn’t
pay to use the land in Nevada to run his cattle on. He paid
at times but refused to pay at other times.

Why are you bringing the Hammonds into this? They had absolutely nothing to do with the Bundys. [And yes, they are probably sorry the Bundys are suffering. I hope no Bundy dies or then the .... will hit the fire. I hope the Hammonds sue the BLM for millions when this is over. I hope the Bundys do, too...and the lawyers. We don’t treat jihadists like this, nor dope dealers, nor wife beaters, or baby or husband killers...what is wrong with our judicial system that thinks total disagreement with a policy by the gov or BLM is a treasonous dissent? It is our right as citizens to disagree and it became physical when the gov made it so.

Hardly. They were occupying a fire shack that is used seldom if at all.

During cross-examination, Bundy acknowledged he hoped to take over the refuge through adverse possession — a common law principle that allows a person to occupy and manage property as a way to transfer ownership.

“Ammon was in court last Friday for a hearing about adding a new lawyer appearing in his underwear.”

No defendant should ever have to endure being represented by an attorney appearing in his underwear.

They were trying to take federal land through adverse possession.

The Dakota Pipeline protesters were camped out on FEDERAL LAND and refused to leave. When forced to leave, they set the camp on fire. Nothing happened to them.

The fact that they found a jury to convict on that charge tells you how far gone the Republic is.

Legal pronciple versus reality.

I don’t think they had any intention of living there. Their purpose was supporting a man they thought was being victimized.

But, I can’t deny his comment. I suspect he used it as a justification for their presence.

Up in Oregon itself the ICE arrested a “Dreamer” in the Portland area late last week because he had a DUI and was not in the country legally.

Well, the local Democrat congressman got involved and the person was released from custody pending his court hearing.

I have not seen the GOP members of Congress stand up for the Hammonds or these guys in prison.

Jim Crow evolved over the decades in the South just like federal land policy evolved in the West over the decades.

The non violent protest of the Bundy’s was to reverse the injustices and as it picked up steam Washington decided to stomp it with the jackboots of the Obama-Lynch-James Comey FBI supported by local law enforcement.
