Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said last week that she supports a filibuster to stop the Supreme Court nomination of federal Judge Neil Gorsuch, claiming that he is way outside the mainstream.
We need to have a judge whos kind of acceptable to both sides, Warren said on National Public Radios Morning Edition Friday. Thats the reason theres a 60-vote rule in effect on Supreme Court nominees.
I dont think Neil Gorsuch meets that standard, Warren said. Heres someone read his record.
In every opportunity to choose between corporate interests, big corporations and the little guy employees, women, consumers he always chooses the big corporations, Warren said. And I think that puts him way outside the mainstream of what we need.
So that means you just to be clear you would support a filibuster? Host Rachel Martin asked Warren.
Oh, absolutely, Warren said.

That’s so cute...
She thinks hard-left ideologues are “mainstream”
An Italian dude is closer to an Indian than a New England WASP is.
Yes, I think he did say that. And it was in the context, of how the laws and facts of the case at hand, determine who wins or loses a case.
That’s why he passed 100-0 on his current gig.
Yeah, if you consider gender-benders, Marx lovers and baby killers mainstream...
OK—So last week Ryan was exposed as a weak and ineffectual, not to mention corrupt, leader of the House Republicans.
This week it’s McTurtle’s turn in the barrel.
The dem party is going to try to block everything Trump plans to do. bammycare was just the start. It’s going to be NO to Gorsuch, tax reform, immigration, budget, military. They are going to spend the next 4 years totally refusing to cooperate.
You can take my words to the bank.
“way outside the mainstream.
Well then, Liawatha therefore must fit in with ideology of North Korean Courts. A one party nomination system of fanatic tyrants.
"...Lying Rat, go tighten Silver's saddle strap,he seems to really like when you get under his bellie"
Are you sure about that? Trump suffered what could still prove to be a temporary reverse on health care reform? Is he regrouping and continuing the fight? Or moving to the left? What will he do if the dems successfully filibuster Gorsuch?
This is a very old story. To take just one still-relevant, non-Trump example, George W. Bush started off in exactly the right place on education policy. The dems blocked him. He became desperate to pass something/anything for which he could assemble a majority and ended up giving away the store.
This is the kind of thing that has the base furious with the leadership. It has gone on for decades. We do a lot more compromising to the left than the reverse. Is Trump immune?
“Bolshevik” means “mainstream” in Russian. I think that’s what she means here when she says “mainstream”.
Haha!
I am sure John McCain will agree with Senator Warren. Oh sure, he will support Gorsuch but argue that Senate traditions must be preserved. He will not go along with the nuclear option.
None of that matters. A year ago Cory Booker said he was "honored" to work with Jeff Sessions on some legislation. This year he said Sessions was an unrepentant racist. It's like the entire party has collective amnesia.
Time for the nuclear option
“Mainstream” can only mean something like establishment or same old same old. It amounts to “what all the other kids are doing” and is no justification at all. It means crowd mentality.
