You can start with the unarguable fact that hardly 17% of the public even knows what the bill contained. I would bet a significant sum that not 20% of freepers know what the bill contained, judging from the comments so far.

And whose fault is that? Someone really fell down on the job, don't you think?

I won't blame President Trump for this but I really question his approach in getting behind something that had no real constituency and no credible sales pitch to the voters.

For that matter, I wonder how serious he really was about getting the stupid thing passed at all. He could have done wonders for it simply by making a prime-time TV address and explaining it to the American people. The fact that his PR campaign in support of this bill amounted to no more than a half-dozen Twitter messages is very telling.
